Hi everyone, sorry for the unexpected thread. There's something I'd like to talk to you about. It's going to be kinda long, I hope you're okay with that. Well, you see... to be honest, I like a challenging server. If this server had 15x exp rate for example, things would be too easy. But there's also a very annoying feeling of repetitiveness which can only be understood by actually feeling it, really. I remember a few days ago, when I had almost an entire day free for playing Royals from morning to night, for like 12 hours straight, I felt like I didn't make as much progress as I thought I would. It felt like all the time spent still didn't result in the desired level. For example, I anticipated getting about 10 levels but got only 4 or 5. Obviously leveling gets slower the higher level you are, though. But, at all levels, low or high, the feeling remains more or less the same. And, gets kinda worse when you're doing a repetitive task. But, the problem is, also, that almost all tasks get repetitive at some point. And if you want to make things turn diverse, you gotta travel to a thousand different places and do many different quests, and that is exhausting, atleast for me. So really, maybe there's a way to make the leveling feel faster, and that way, make it less annoying that its slow? I think this can also help encouragement to keep going an not "give up", as they say. The problem is once you run out of things to do, you're forced to go to do the same, repetitive thing which never changes much. I once thought that putting music on, socializing and talking to friends and such, or just putting TV on while playing, etc. - things like that, are things that actually make the leveling feel faster in a way, or atleast, makes it feel less repetitive. But after a while, even these ways don't really help. The only thing I figured out that helped me, was logging off and taking a "mini break" for a day or two, and then coming back with full strength and determination. This isn't the only thing that helped me though. Sometimes I'm very ambitious and want to reach a certain thing very much, so I keep leveling hardcore no matter what and never get bored. But I'm not always that ambitious and serious about it either. Maybe there are more effective ways, that I just dont know of. If you have found a way for yourself which helped you, I'd appreciate if you can share it and maybe it will work out for me or others. Well, yeah, that's all pretty much. Sorry for the long message.
Reading your posts feels a little bit like entering into my own head (or another one's head, literally). There are many thoughts there, and sometimes quite messy. The text flows nicely, so that's good (my own thoughts doesn't always flow nicely) but it's a bit hard to understand exactly what you are asking about. Grinding can be pretty fun at times, in my opinion. But I don't do it nearly as much now as I did back n GMS like 10 years ago. In Royals, I mostly kill bosses and explode stuff by reading dark-colored papers. For the grinding to feel fast and somewhat enjoyable, I'd advice to do some research first. You can grind in the same spot for 10 hours and get the same EXP as you would have got in another place in just 5 hours. Part of those 5 hours could be spent researching instead. Excel is your friend, but if that feels too nerdy for you, just ask around and try those places to find out for yourself which one you like. Get the hang of the map and find a way that is the most efficient. Last but not least, try to find a party. Party play (or shared map) is sometimes both a faster and more fun way to play. If you can't find a party, at least you can send some stupid messages to buddies and guild once in a while.
Hello Zofran, Seems like your entering the phase of oh this game is getting dull. But definately it isn’t and it is as exciting as it can be, think of making urself some friends if you entered the server alone, join a guild, make friends, get gameplay partners and eventually making an static team in Bossing eventually building and ending the journey of this exciting yet simple game with the community of buddies you built up. This is a community built enjoyment type of game. And thats the way you should tackle it.
You sound like a lonely person. I think you need a good friend to grind/boss together or someone whom you can compete with, in a friendly manner. Solo style can be convenient but it tends to tire one out in the long run.
Lol I dont know if you played much old maple OP, but I rarely think to myself that it's slow because I have that past experience nagging at me. You could try focusing on quests. I got from 1 to 80 in a blink of an eye just doing every quest I could find, it probably wasn't very fast but it felt fast.
I never played GMS, but it wouldn't be comparable anyway because of different exp rates, different weapons being available to islanders, etc. The highest islanders on royals are Sawngo: lvl 82, Snayl: lvl 81, me: lvl 72, Chockladkakan: lvl 72, Bluecream: lvl 71 More on topic: when you stop looking at your exp constantly, it can feel faster. This is easy to do if you have goals other than leveling, for example, farming quest items, event items or a godly equip. Alternatively, you could change your scope; so rather than looking forward to the next level, you can look forward to the next 10% instead. This can make you feel like you're making progress faster, without that actually being the case.
Well, by level 70 isn't there only one best mob to farm on? I'd think you'd have gotten all the top godlies by now on that mob.
Doing quests and setting multiple goals while leveling would help. Multiple goals like: Getting 1b+ from selling equips Farming certain items to mass sell or use like popular godly equips, scrolls etc Train at maps that spawn bosses to farm NX
Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies and sharing your opinions on this matter. Indeed, perhaps part of making it feel faster or just better, is to do it with friends, or in a party. I'm kinda a lonely player/person indeed, its a trait I always had, I just enjoy going to do tasks on my own without interference or having to wait for someone else to come along or keep up with me, etc. But, when its a repetitive task with minimal movement - like grinding in one same spot and map, then I always prefer doing it in a party of 2 or more. I also never put goals set in place, I just do whatever feels right and fun at a specific moment and thats it. When I get bored, I log off, do a different thing or try a different video game, and come back refreshed. Thats a good trick. But there are many other tricks as well. Like, one of these mentioned here in one of the replies. Also, did you know if you move to grind at unusual or rare places that almost nobody goes to, it does kinda add a special touch or feeling to it? And in fact some of these maps people rarely grind at are pretty good exp, despite what some may think. Sometimes I just hate the slow leveling speed though. Sometimes, I set a "self goal" of reaching a certain % of exp or a level, and when its reached I log offf. That way I know how much more I have to "suffer" as they say, and that kinda helps remaining focused.
