Hi, I am a Level 40 Assassin with 80 DEX, 132 LUK wearing Level 35-40 equipments. My character was already 38 when I came back, I just grinded dungeons near sleepywood to make it 40. My plan is to reach level 50. I tried to grind some other areas, it feels pretty slow. So I am taking any suggestions on where to grind. Thank you.
honestly I'd just do cpq until level 51, then train at voodoos until 58ish or until you can hit vikings at cpq2 but those two options require other people... lol I'm not sure where the typical spot to grind would be as a sin at level 40, maybe target straw dummies in mu lung like good ol gms? I wouldn't know, but I do know both cpq's are pretty fast if they're not dead c:
+1 for Straw Target Dummies, or STD's as I just realized I can call them. Easy to navigate flat map, good spawn, and potential to drop Maple Shine Wands which can be great money if you get a godly one (which Im sure you need if your first character is a sin). Good luck!
Wraiths also give great exp, but I'm not sure if it's super efficient as a sin. A lot of moving around and they mob up quite a bit which could eat away at your pots. Best equip you can get from them money-wise is a Red Whip, but they also steel ore which can get you a quick buck. They're both really easy to get to as well. My vote is still on STD's (heh), but honestly, do whatever you think is fun. That's what really matters. Remember, you still have the option to PQ, as stated above. Could be a nice change of pace.
If you have some fund, can try stopper + gs2 (since you have relatively high dex, i guess you can 90% hit them). If you need to earn some money, maybe can try master chronos for helm dex 60%.
CPQ is the best to be honest. If not, Ludi PQ works too. Else, can try Jr. Wraith and party up with a Cleric.
If you decide to CPQ, even though you prefer grinding, then get a good partner who actually can hunt well inside. As assassin, try going into rooms 5 or 6 because they're less crowded and give you space to attack. If you still want to grind instead, I suggest platoon chronos at Ludi, preferably with a cleric.
My character is having a struggle killing wraths, training dummies. Does that mean my sin is a failed character? ;-;
At your level, its better off to grind with a cleric. Thats why its "struggle". Or just CPQ. About the sin, you have too much dex. Should've been dexless.
OP if you are struggling with wraiths, I suggest u go to ludi at teddies. They are only lvl 30 but there's a TON of them and the map layout is OK. I'm new here too and actually at lvl 39cwith sin as first char. If you have at least 500k I suggest u go to nlc and buy warrior elixir (I don't remember the name, the +12att/8min red pot) as it can be a game changer (killing teddies with 1 skill). If you have more money to spare get some steelies (around 150k-200k I think) and any watt wg. This will help. Add me in game, my time is gmt - 3 and I try to play at night. Some dude helped me with money and I can spare some too, for at least some steelies sets and a round of pots. BTW, at teddies u can drop 2 maple items and alot more of stuff. You can go to chronos too, because of gun 60%, mple dagger, wand 10% and cromi/mystic shield, although the XP there is awful (compared to teddies because of the layout)
Reinforcing the fact that you have too much dex for your level, as most sins are able to go dexless until late 3rd job, due to maple weapons being readily available from normal monsters, meaning no dex requirements for your weapons. Personally, I spent my 2nd job just going around doing quests and occasionally doing grinding, and it went by very fast. I suggest doing some of the boss quest lines such as The Old Tree which is for killing Stumpy. Almost all boss quest lines are fairly easy and give a lot of experience for the boss killing portion of the quest, as well as lots of fame. You can also do Monster Carnival as others have suggested, as that is technically the fastest way of leveling up if you consistently have a party, but sometimes that isn't the case. This is a little bit of a late reply so I hope you've found your way, but if not, I hope this helps.
