It's probably because of the fact that that area has the same drop mechanic as the actual pig areas, where the eggs disappear a lot faster than normal to keep the area clear for the next person who goes in, since all the maps are shared between players, so they don't want other players looting previous players' eggs they didn't pick up. You had those dropped for about the same time it takes for the eggs to disappear normally, so I'm guessing that's what happened, but I could be wrong.
This map - like the golden pig maps - make use a special drop expiration time of 10 seconds. It could be argued that this shouldn't occur in this particular map. So leaving this open for now.
