    Hi

I just downloaded the new mapleroyals version, MapleRoyalsSetup140419 on my windows 7 laptop. I installed the game as per normal. After the game is installed, I tried launching the game using the desktop short cut, but nothing happened. No error messages or anything. Thereafter I played with the compatibility settings while running on administrator but it nothing happened. I allowed Mapleroyal as a program under firewall but nothing changes.

I have played download many versions of Mapleroyals on my laptop in the past. This is the first time this had happened. I tried googling for solutions but nothing suits my context. There are no missing files and the downloaded file is not corrupted. The game is also installed successfully.

Delete dinput8.dll file from mapleroyals folder.

Try to run the setup.exe in mapleroyals folder. It will help you change the frequency to the one compatible with Maple.

I had this issue as well, installing Windows 7 on my second laptop. I decided to make a new partition, download the 64 bit Windows 7 iso file here, make a bootable USB with Rufus with that iso file, and then install THAT Windows 7.

So I downloaded my drivers using driveridentifier.com (after manually downloading the network controller driver to my USB and installing it of course so I had wifi internet access). And then downloaded MapleRoyals.

I got progress, finally I got something to happen when I double clicked the MapleRoyals shortcut. The error "The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer." So I thought huh, that's weird. Installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, again, making sure I installed the 64 bit version. Okay, same error. Weird. Went to my MapleRoyals folder, dragged the dinput8.dll from there to my desktop. Double clicked MapleRoyals shortcut again. And wow, client launched and I can play! \o/

Sooo yeah, that's how I got it to work. I have no idea if there's an issue with the 32 bit version of Windows 7. Or if certain Windows 7 versions (Ultimate/Professional/Home Premium) make a difference either. I just used Windows 7 ultimate, 64 bit.

I will note that I installed two other versions of Windows 7 on partitions. The one before, absolutely nothing happened when I tried to open Royals. No matter what I tried or did. I didn't fix it; I just started over. The one before THAT had major issues such as "The procedure entry point InitializeCriticalSectionEx could not be located in the dynamiclink library KERNEL32.dll." Which as far as I read, meant my Windows 7 install itself was corrupted and unviable.

If you can't wipe your current Windows 7, consider making a partition and make a second Windows 7 on your computer by following my instructions above. Or you could install VMware and install Windows 7 that way too.

I installed a previous version, MapleRoyals190219 I had in my past downloads and it worked. So my guess is that there is something really different in the latest version that affects Windows7 users. I'll try the suggestions and see if it works.

P.S. wow Sparky and Shiyui replied!! Im a big fan :)

Update: 'Delete dinput8.dll file from mapleroyals folder.' works! Thanks!

Although you can login with older version of the files, you would be risking getting your character stuck / disconnections or even ban (till your files are updated)

Do seek for help on Forums or Discord when you encounter issues with new files

This works, but what does it do exactly?

It's meant to resolve some existing issues, but the file currently only works with Windows 10 and will bug Windows XP & 7 Users

I'm not so sure about that considering I experienced this on Windows 10 as well
