As my last post here on the forums I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who personally messaged me their positive thoughts and congratulations about everything as well as a thanks to those who shared those positive thoughts publicly! Much love and again, I wish you all the best! <3

I don't know you, and likely you don't know me. I'm also not sure that you'll read this considering you've just quit, though I've got a minute and had just read your farewell thread which offered me some intense entertainment on a few different levels. I played MapleRoyals at the beginning, when it was ~30 active people and had left before the server began to gain momentum in the player population. As such, we've never met and I honestly don't know what the staff team is like nowadays or who's on it. I recently joined back a few days ago and have noticed some major changes in the game play of the server and the makeup of the staff. However, what I have also noticed is how much the staff's mindset has not changed. I can't speak for you and your time on Royals, though from what I've experienced, the staff has been, in almost every regard, extremely insular. I'm not meaning to bash anyone for poor attitudes and behaviour, clearly the server is thriving. What I mean by this is that the two administrators have, since the very beginning, had quite a large stick up their ass regarding anyone with even slightly different views- be it moral, social, or Maple-related. There is a blatantly obvious trickle-down effect from Matt & John whereas each of the new selected staff members meet the exact quota of their steadfast beliefs and are therefore the ones that are chosen to become staff members.

I'll get to my point. I want to give you a personal congratulations and thank you. After reading your farewell thread and seeing your facetious and nonchalant exposure to the 'ruse cruise' you've put everyone on I am here typing this because I feel obligated to share with you the overwhelming satisfaction you've unexpectedly granted me today. Congratulations for pulling off and 'winning' the server by your own means, on your own terms. And thank you as well, for putting the cherry on top by throwing it back in their faces.

Other than a congratulations and thank you, I'd like to make you aware of what, hopefully, kind of impact this will have on Matt and John. It's my best hope that they will come to terms with the fact that the internet (especially MapleStory) is flecked with all kinds of people, and each individual's truths and motivations are entirely their own. Even if it's just a little, I'm glad you were able to make this impact and, as a returning player to MapleRoyals, hope there will be positive outcomes because of it.

You joined May 24 this year. The last time there were 30 active people was over a year ago. That doesn't add up for me, but whatever. :O

 

One of the biggest WTF-moments is finally happening and people want this thread to be closed. We rarely get any entertainment but when we do people have to go ahead and ruin it for others. *gets another bucket of popcorn with butter*

We can close it once we have nothing more to say but it looks like westcoastipa has a lot to say and is attempting to revive the drama so I can't help but to suggest we keep this going just so we can watch dis unfold.

It's time for everyone to get a seat, sit back and enjoy the show. We deserve it after all our hard afking in fm.

If the situation starts gets out of hand a GM will notice this before it goes to far by interfering and appropriate actions will be taken. But so far nothing has gotten out of hand and I this has been good amusement for me.
