Hello guys we the players from Hong Kong would like to share with all of you what is currently happening in our place Last Sunday has seen over 1,000,000 citizens participate in a protest against the proposed amendment of an extradition bill which, if passed, would cause certain accused persons to be sent to China and be subjected to a legal jurisdiction notorious for serving the political interests of the ruling party and disregarding basic human rights. While protesters today successfully caused the postponement of second reading of the bill by gathering and blocking the way to the legislature building, the police went mental and resorted to excessive force, hurting unarmed civilians with a myriad of weapons capable of causing grievous injury or even death, and many more beyond our imagination. Not intended to get into any fight now that we have a good population of players from China, so not going into the political side of the story. This is purely for arousing interest or concern for those would like to know more about the incident THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW. Not possible with this many injured (on both sides) Pretty sure they gonna pass the law by brute force
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/hong-kong-pause-extradition-bill-protests-china-11630154 The HK government finally gave in, guess the protest paid off
The bill will pass sooner or later. Hong Kong is part of China and the Chinese government will not allow Hong Kong to not obey China's laws. Unless Hong Kong is prepared to say that it wants independence from China. But no matter which way Hong Kong chooses, in 50 years time, Hong Kong will become no different from the province of Guangdong, either by force or by peaceful integration. At the end of the day, Hong Kong has only a 7 million population and cannot influence the 1.3 billion mainland Chinese. I'm trying to be neutral and just stating the facts. Not trying to give an opinion on which side is correct/wrong.
Yea, kinda expect the law will be passed by brute force Even if Hong Kong declares wanting independence from China, it's not gonna happen since it will boost Taiwan's independence chance The situation will not improve unless there's a change of policy or even power in CCP
But I still think protests in Hong Kong is a good thing and should continue, as long as they don't turn violent. It prompts the CCP to think of how to grant more political freedom to Chinese citizens. China eventually needs a channel for its citizens to voice political opinions. If not social unrest will occur, as shown in Hong Kong. Right now in mainland China you can't even dicuss about "Xi Jinping" in China's online forums. But the CCP may also just decide that more control is needed to prevent similar unrests as that in Hong Kong. Who knows. But no matter what the CCP will continue to hold power because it had done so well in the past few decades in terms of improving the living standards of the Chinese people.
Yea, CCP does deserve some credits in shaping China in terms of economic power - making China 1 of the strongest country in trading But the over-censorship is causing issues and some of the China citizens realized that, plenty of words are censored on both online forums and also in-game. This is part of why Hong Kong and Taiwan couldn't trust China's control. I went China before and it annoyed me that I need to use VPN for everything + using VPN is illegal - felt so criminal
Please don't feel criminal. Many Chinese use VPNs without any sense of guilt And VPNs can actually be blocked too, but China isn't doing that. So in some sense using VPNs are "allowed". Lol.
I am not HKer but I will stand together for HK. For BLM. For Uyghur. Stand together against Human rights violation. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. What affects one directly, affects all indirectly. ✊☂️
