IGN: Puff Last thing you did: Walked around FM and checked Cash Shop. Why do you think you got banned?: I got banned for "account sharing." Ban message when attempting to log in: Unknown, because I do not even remember my password. What GM banned you (optional): Unknown Details(?): After a 3 month hiatus (starting somewhere around mid -July) I was recently informed that I was banned on September 27th, although I did nearly nothing in neither months September, nor August. I cannot explain further why I was banned for account sharing, considering I stopped playing far before the date of my ban and cannot remember anything that could be linked to it.
The account sharing didn't come to light until a short while before you were banned. The reason we became aware that a group of friends including yourself were account sharing was because of this incident: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/lost-items-most-likely-hacked.14092/
I'm not sure how I'm included in this, especially since the links are not displaying, but is there any way to resolve this?
The links should be displaying. However, I'll explain in brief since they're not showing up for you. Just under a month ago, Starfish reported that she had been hacked. We investigated and discovered that someone had clearly been on her account. Further investigation resulted in the discovery that there were a group of friends, yourself and Starfish included, who had shared account information with other friends in that group.
Well, that's a disappointing reason to be forced to quit this server; having it be a permaban, too. I personally see no problem with sharing account information if necessary with no harm being done to any of the accounts, even before changing passwords to secure the safety of them. Yes, we were a group of friends that played multiple games together constantly in skype calls, and half of them being completely new to this game and actually struggle to figure out how to put AP and SP points and what to put them in, it would deem fair. Although this is a common rule for nearly every game, this specific case where no harm was done, no major abuse was implemented, and the password changes resolved the problem, I feel the consequence is too cruel. The more appropriate way to handle this is to have at least a 30 day ban, like the new account sharing details now provides. The fact that we have been permabanned without any vital consultation in lifting these bans is quite vain. I accept the consequences for having not abide by the ToS, resulting in a permaban. I apologize for having friends.
