Horntail run 18th of Oct.

I'll be hosting a HT run on saturday the 18th at 7 PM server time. (which is GMT time. Meaning UK is 8PM, the netherlands is 9PM)
A few things will be different from the previous run.

1) The amount of people;
last run we simply had too many people. This caused a lot of lag and people to dc/crash possibly. Therefor I will limit this run to 3 parties (and a 4th back up one if needed)

2) The drops;
I will work with a point system for people to get their stuff and I will count the previous run into this.
I don't know if mike (illuminate) still works with this system, but I liked it so I'll be using this aswell, but tweaking it a little. (credits to whoever came up with it)
HTP will be distributed amongst runners who survive. Highest level to lowest. People who already have one will be put on the bottom of this list.

Point system:
Attending HT 1 point
Completing the preheads 2 points (3 points)
Making it to HT 50% 1 point (4 points)
Full kill another 2 points (6 points)
This will grand you a total of 6 points per run max.
There will be 2 seperated lists for points (both lists get the same amount of points per run, so for a full run +6 points to both lists.)
Not showing up for the run (without cancelling it before the actually run) -1 point. No penalty given to people who cancel their run at either me or Tim OR post on this thread you can't make it.

List 1, mastery books) This set of points will be reset to 0 as soon as you get a book. You will rebuild these points when attending horntail again, like before.

List 2, egg) This set of points will only keep increasing over time untill you get your egg. Once obtained you will be removed from the list since you can not repeat the quest anyway.

If no one needs a book that's dropped, the book will be sold and the money shared amongst the runners. People who survive get the max share, people who made it past 50% of HT get 50% of the share.

Where does a Bucc fall in the DPS chart? I might make one purely for Horntail/Zakum. Just to be clear, Night Lords and Bowmasters do not benefit from Speed Infusion, right? Something that was bothering me was that end game Claws are Fast (4), but apparently they don't benefit from the SI. Is Triple Throw at a fixed speed at Fast (2) or am I missing something?

Faster (2) is the attack speed cap, so anyone with a Fast (4) weapon is already at max attack speed just with booster, which is why NLs don't benefit from it. Not sure about BMs, but I think hurricane is a fixed speed. Us warriors would appreciate some SI though

 

So Faster (2) is the cap for everyone or just Night Lords?

 

I would like to give HT a try with less people.

If I still DC, I'm out of ideas.

 

For everyone. So any warrior using a red katana will not benefit from SI either.

On that note, normal (6) weapons and fast (5) weapons are both going to end up with faster (2) speed after SI, so a dragon claymore would (theoretically) be better to have than either a ST (because of higher base and no dex req) or a 1h (because of higher base and better multiplier). Of course that implies that you have funds sitting around to make an "I-have-SI-only" weapon that's otherwise as well scrolled as your primary weapon, and who would want to bother with that?

I'm not sure whether a dragon faltizan or sky skiis are better for DKs. The skiis still reach speed cap (faster(2)), while a faltizan is only going to get to faster (3). I don't know enough about DKs to know if the extra 10 possible attack is worth it.

Finally - yes, hurricane is a fixed speed. It's 500 shots per minute, regardless of weapon speed, and whether or not you use booster. Rapid Fire is the same, so corsairs are only benefitting from SI while they're on ship.

 

Dragon Claymores can also be used at Zakum and Bigfoot. Easy to pin Bigfoot with apparently and with a Speed Infusion mule, you can do quite a number on Zakum.

At a certain point, I think a super godly clean scrolled +7 Dragon Faltizan can be potentially better DPS than a perfect Sky Ski.
