I've found a temporary fix, though! I found Tim's forum about using VMware and Windows XP for horntail, but I'm using it to run maple royals on a regulaur basis. This is temporary for me until I take it up to best buy and have them check it out. Runs without the Gr2D error.
Have you changed your compatibility to win xp source 2? I had the same problem and i had to change it to get it to work.
Did you find a fix for this? I don't even know what vmware is and i don't really wanna use some other programs to start up mapleroyals.. i too have a hp laptop and i've tried everything :C
