I have recently been on 8 Zakum runs without a single Triple Throw 10 drop. Now, I might be biased because I'm currently in this position without TT 10, but the drop rate seems way too low. On official servers you would usually have a TT10 drop every 2nd run unless you were extremely unlucky. To further argue for this suggestion, I don't believe it would make much of a difference balance-wise whether it's economy-related or class-related. Triple Throw is a Night Lord's main attacking skill. Without it, people, like myself probably prefer not to play the character until the skill is unlocked. I have almost entirely been idle on my character these last few days because of this. I just want to play my character. Thank you for reading.
It's an important skill and I don't think the rate is too low personally. Sure it was annoying when I didn't get aca for like 20-30 runs, but it's honestly just luck. Some people get it right away, some take forever. Not sure who it was, but it took them like over 40 runs. All in all, it is an important skill and I think it should be equally hard to get (and I'm not saying this because I happened to be lucky either!)
I agree with you the starting skillbook rate should be raised from zakum. On average its like what 8 runs? thats alot of time that one needs to spend just standing around and using potions for a skill. Its boring and tedious as hell for seemingly not much of a reason. I for one am not fond of spending 7 hours for something that really does feel like should come easier. And the whole argument of "its just luck" is absolutely absurd. That whole notion basically implies that the % chance doesnt matter which is a ludicrous notion because it obviously matters immensely in this case.
I got my tt10 after like 10-12 runs and am still waiting for AR for my bishop and it's been more than 20 runs .. TT has been dropping quite frequently (now that I don't need it ........) but I don't think the rate should be increased. I think it's the excitement of running zak, not many run for exp anyway so zak is there for the book drops and zhelm, when you hit 4th job you hope it drops tt10 aca10 ar10, after 135 you start hoping it drops gen20
You have done only 8 zakum runs for the book, that really isn't much. Took me 17 runs to get my tt10 back in the day. That means like almost 10 hours afking on the corner to get the book. Just keep it up. edit. It's all about luck, I see TT10 quite often dropping on my zruns.
In my opinion, Lv10 cores skills shouldn't drop from Zakum to begin with. It should be through quests like Berserk or Genesis.
There are many people who have mentioned that acquiring tt 10 is just a "matter of luck", which is completely true. Heck, almost everything in Maple is based on luck, or to put it less bluntly, on RNG (e.g., scrolls have the ability to allow a lucky player's net worth to sky rocket) But the issue should be whether something as crucial as tt 10, for night lords, should be left to a "matter of luck". Contrast this with what was mentioned by @MoriForest above. There is a completely different mechanic in game designed for a certain class to obtain an important skill as well. So should an important skill like tt 10 be obtainable through an RNG drop from zakum? Or should it be made obtainable through a quest line like Genesis? And just because some of you guys got it after an average of 7 or 8 or 10 runs doesn't value add to this issue, which is whether tt 10 should be obtainable through luck. It is as good as saying "I didn't obtain tt 10 easily, so neither should you". If the mechanic is broken, it is broken, regardless whether you are able to cope and surmount this broken mechanic at all. I have two night lords and I don't recall how long it took me to get tt 10 on either of them but considering that this wasn't something frustrating to me, I reckon I got lucky. But just because I got lucky with this broken mechanism doesn't mean that it should stay that way.
It was way worse in old times Maplestory, people that even wasn't able to do a Zakum run, either because prequest were pretty annoying, no team mates for running it, or any other reason (like TT10 drop rate) decided to continue the Night Lord path until they were able to obtain the main attacking skill, just using lucky seven as they used to do before 120. i remember a guildmate in those days who obtained TT10 when he reached lvl130 or so. In this server, i started joining Zakum roads on my hermit when it was lvl 80 or so, and got TT10 ready at level 9x, that would be a good option.
The real crux of the issue is no skill should be locked behind bosses (base skills at least, 20/30 are tradable so its whatever). Not everyone plays maple with the intent to boss (Hell, if I didn't have to and if normal class helmets weren't so inferior to Z-helms I wouldn't boss period.)
NL is the easiest class to boss, now that they should face something challenging like getting main skill @@@
I went for 13 full runs without a single drop. By the time i got my tt10, i’ve already completed relooting my helm. Its all based on determination and of course luck. Therefore start zaking as early as possible.
I literally googled this instead of searching for it on forums, this was first google post so i went here, didn't notice the date.
