We agree'd that the holiday items shouldn't be donate shop I will see if i can figure out how to remove it or I will see if Matt or John can remove it soon. On other word I would like to thank you on your input on our donation shop, and we always encourage input from our players. Thank you once again
This thread is 4 months old. And Christmas is just around the corner. You can't say I'm not patient...
Rudeness not appropriate/appreciated. In all honosty, your reaction just over the top. It takes just a few minutes to set the needed files up for the next patch. Don't dramatise the 'task' being asked, look at yourselfs and wonder why this wasn't done yet in one month (since Mike, Hump, said Staff agreed on removing the items) time, perhaps that's where you should overreact?
No rudeness whatsoever. If someone is able to do it and ready to do so, they should step forward and tell us how to do it. I stand by what I said. We've been busy so we haven't been able to figure out how to remove what you coded. Last time we tried to make an edit to your code, it produced doubles of everything in the cash shop.
How about we take a simpler approach to things and not include items that are already in the Cash Shop or the Donor Shop in future seasonal events (other than discount sales)? This won't solve the long-term problem of needing to remove certain items from the donor/Cash shop for other reasons (eg duplicate items with different names) but with the Christmas patch coming up very soon, it seems like a reasonable temporary solution. EDIT: the other way of dealing with things would presumably be to disable certain items from purchase - once again, as a temporary solution.
Personally, it will still bother me because like I said, some of us worked really really hard and paid a lot of just to have them before it was too late. They shouldn't have been there in the first place, and I feel like they should be in the recent Christmas event, but only after they'd be removed from the CS. We just need to avoid situations where there's a way to get a certain item and a way to get it faster by using real life money. It didn't happen in the same time, but that's how the currect situation is now. This issue is actually quite serious when you think about it.
Disabling something from purchase would have the same effect as removing it from the donor shop. I'm suggesting this as a temporary workaround until we can figure out Gi's coding for the donor shop.
I have asked for the most recent version of my code, because I don't want the cashshop to get smudged with temporarly fixes like the ones @Katsuruka suggested. I've put a reasonable amount of effort in figuring out how to adjust the cashshop, and a little bit more time to clean the original cashshop of unused/restricted items. I've mentioned several times you should read my notes. Spoiler: The notes The 'path' which is refered to in the notes. This really contains all the information you need to make the update, and the rest of the implementation makes it easy to adjust changes. The reason my code produces doubles, is basically because you asked it to. The last line in the quote says you should always start from clean XML files; however the current path references to a custom/server modified XML file.
After much digging, it turns out that the Santa Costume in the Donor Shop was never included in last year's Christmas event anyway! However, as it's fairly similar to two outfits that were included, I've earmarked it for removal.
None of those were in last year's event. We didn't have a hat that looked like the Santa Hat (Male) in the event; the Lovely Christmas hat looks a lot like the Maplemas hat, but the Maplemas hat is not an NX item; and the Santa Costume looks very much like the Santa Boy Overall but isn't, as that item wasn't unisex. I've got the files from both the Christmas Tree and Maple Claws from last Christmas, plus screenshots showing all the items that Maple Claws offered as rewards for collecting the Stars of Maplemas Spirit. It makes sense to remove the Santa Costume from the donor shop and include it in the event instead, given that it's a unisex version of the Santa Boy Overall, but I don't see any reason for removing the other two items.
You're right, that specific Santa Hat wasn't there. I confused it with the Santa Hat for males. As for the other two - I don't need to expand much about the Santa Overall since you agreed that it needs to be taken down, BUT: This is my Lovely Christmas hat. Be sure that I didn't get it from the donor shop, lol. I don't know if your list is correct or not but this hat was surely there. And there's no point going head to head. These are Christmas items. They should be Christmas exclusive, obviously. Keeping it in the DS is not a good idea because simply - what would you do next year? give the same items? and the year after that? Last year we had Santa Outfits, this year we can have these instead: Or, we can have green Santa outfits: (This is photoshop, not WZ editing) There's nothing wrong with having a variety. Just look at Geox's comment: I think that he means that he's disappointed because you gave the same items. There is also this thing about veteran players. They have items that new players don't (I'm not only talking about the Santa outfit, I'm talking about the Ice Chair & ring with the 1 A & M.A too because it seems relevant). Why not keeping it that way?
It would be great if the equips are limited to the people who participated in the events. Great suggestion Gags! +1
Because it's far from being a priority when we have more important things to focus on, such as server stability and working on the new source. With the new source, this should be fixed.
