Okay im making a quick guide on new years GM event because it's somewhat confusing for people 1) get the quest from GM NPC (lightbulb) then accept the quest from GM NPC again Once you accept the quest, it doesn't show in quest tab. 2) Go to CS and buy horoscope overall, shoe, and one of the hat (pick any you want) Depending on what you pick, you get a chair for that sign. reward spoiler: http://media.playpark.net/MapleStory/uploadimages/140617_Gacha.png 3) Go talk to King Abdullah in Ariant palace You need to wear the horoscope equips in order for the quest to trigger with King Abdullah! To get in, you need to do quick quests 'learning the culture of ariant' and 'Tigun the Guard at the Palace' Google is your friend Apparently you can TP into the palace as of right now. But you didn't hear that from me 4) He'll give you 4 places to farm monster and get gift. Omega sector, Kent area, Deep clock, Herb garden 5) Pick any ONE of the map and grind til you get a gift. Meaning: You don't have to go to Omega Sector. (I chose '10 year old herb garden' but I don't think it matters? killed 'Jar' to be more specific) 6) open the white gift and you're done. its in 'use' tab FAQ- "Once you start the quest, you no longer have to wear any of the horoscope equips to hunt the box (the boxes will drop, regardless of what you are wearing)." -iSlayDogs Chairs aren't tradeable Can you forfeit quest and pick different hat for different chair? - No clue, haven't tried. If you have tried, let us know! Can I use my mage to farm the box for other mules? - Yes, only IF neither of the characters received the quest & have not finished the quest already. Confirmed by couple sources but who knows. Just farm it yourself to be certain "There are probably 12 unique boxes looking the same but only visible to each specific horoscope quest (all of my chars in the same map could only see 1 box each as they did different chair quest)." -iSlayDogs How long did it take you to get gift? - it took me 5~50 minutes at herb garden. I'm guessing around 1-5% drop rate
Good note to add: You need to wear the horoscope equips in order for the quest to trigger with King Abdullah!
just a small note, to enter the palace, u can do 1 of these 2 things: 1) tp to someone inside. (kinda bug abuse?) 2) do the 2 quests to get the permit - Learning the Culture of Ariant, which is from Byron (in the town, the portal on the other side of the fm from the palace portal) and Tigun the Guard at the Palace (basically bribing the guard)
I’ve tried multiple maps and it’s been over an hour with no drop. The only thing I can think of is I took off my outfit briefly then put it back on. I don’t know if this glitches anything.

Things I found out: 1. Once you start the quest, you no longer have to wear any of the horoscope equips to hunt the box (the boxes will drop, regardless of what you are wearing). 2. There are probably 12 unique boxes looking the same but only visible to each specific horoscope quest (all of my chars in the same map could only see 1 box each as they did different chair quest). 3. You do not have to be in party to see the box drop + others can hunt the box for you. Took me an hour of hunting + checking all my clients to get 7 boxes x.x

Ah that makes sense. One of my guildy said that the character that killed the mob can't see the box but the mules could see it. Probably had different horoscope set Ty will add
1 tip I would say, and this applies to all other quests with quest / unique items, is that when you kill a monster and you see theres a gap in between the mesos / etc drop / potion drop, it means that there has been an "additional" item dropped. Then you should probably check it out. Example: While hunting for stumpy (the tree stump boss), Im sure some noticed the (dark) axe stumps dropping lots of spaces. Those are the altar pieces needed during xmas event
