Dear Mapleroyals Community; I have a question about chaos scrolls: Can a chaos scroll raise +/- 0-5 of an individual stat, or +/- 0-5 of all stats on an item... The reason I am asking is, most equips, assuming you have the funds, would be best maxed out with 30/10%s combined with white scrolls till capped +successes, but for thieves, specifically bandits, lets say you got an equip, which you can add 1x 30%/10% scroll success for the additional stat, thats 3 stats on the equip that matter (STR, DEX, and LUK.) Sometimes 4, STR, DEX, LUK, ATK. IF a chaos scroll can raise each of these 4 stats by up to +5, and you were to get extremely lucky although you will have 1 less upgrade available from adding str stat onto your armor, logically your best random odds would be to chaos scroll/white scroll equips and hope for the best, instead of using 10%s?? Edit: I mean after a long time, you could make some really good end game gear, assuming you get +30ish to str, dex, and luk on a single equip thats 90 stat. 50+ would be impossible/highly improbable.
Assuming you are talking about weapons, the odds of using a cs and getting a better or equal outcome compared to a 10% weapon scroll is 3/11 * 1/11 * 6/10 = 18/1210 = 1/67 (approximately) vs 1/10. EDIT: The odds are somewhat better against ranged weapons like claw, bow,gun, etc. 5/11 * 1/11 * 6/10 = 30/1210 = 1/40 (approximately) With those odds, you could have perfected a weapon by the time you land that 1 successful cs. Also, you would probably not want to do this on successive slots since you cannot reverse negative outcomes. I think the cs would be much better used on non weapon gears. If you are talking about helmets/topwear/bottomwear/etc, people do cs them to get >+3 total stats
probably something like zakum helms, eg. for warrior usually you can only scroll for dex but with CS, you can get +str as well something like this for a zak helm 10% helmet for dex adds +3 dex - 1/10 chances to get +3 dex CS - 3/11 x 60% chance to get +3 dex AND above, BUT also having a 4/11 chance to add +1~5 str, which means that when you use a CS, there is a 5.95% chance that you get more than what a 10% scroll can ever give
