As far as everyone not liking it as a general NPC, why not just not allow it to recharge stars? I know post Big Bang, the general merchants that are just about all towns wont charge stars. Also, everyone uses NLC pots, if it sells mana elixers and white pots, its not going to effect the game at all. All its going to do is allow people to NPC equips more easily.
thats exactly what I mean, haha. Ive relied on your guides a good amount, having them in the game would be fantastic.
Problem is, my guides are over 10,000 words long and full of spoiler codes so unless there's a way to externally link each player who clicks on that NPC and direct them to their guide of choice, I can't see any reasonable solution to that problem.
divide them up into sections "Hi im an npc whats up >HOW DO I HP WASH (x) >HOW DO I MAKE MONEY >WHY AM I SO LONLEY Hp washing is when you do stuff to wash you hp i will explain how to do it a short amount >PART 1 >PART 2 " .... etc
I think having direct links to the guide is better because there will be less text coding and brings more traffic to the forum.
lol yeah but its not like it would be that much coding though. the only way I could think of loading a webpage from maplestory would be to somehow load the after-you-log-out window thing which i think is something built into the client to open when you close it, so it might not be possible to do without playing around with the client lol
I don't understand why there is such a desire to have the guides OFF the forum. The forum has these guides optimized to not only be functional, but well designed and looking much better than it possibly could on an NPC.
Everyone does have a need for the forums one way or another. Whether they choose to use it or not is their prerogative. Anything from patch notices to announcements will be posted here first before getting onto the main site and those that do not heed these changes can potentially be banned thus using the forum again to appeal.
I know the forum exists, I dont see why people are so against having information in game as well as the forum. But whatever I think a central repository of event info, some server notices, some quick guides and currently known bugs would be useful is all. (Im even willing to help code it, lol)
They don't necessarily need to go on the forums to get the new patch notes. Like I said: Not everyone but still many.
