Your Character Names: JoelEmbiid/Rodi/FratStar/AznBabyGirl/RaveBaeee Last thing you did: walked around ellinia Why do you think you got banned?: I couldn't access the MapleRoyals website on my computer/phone and I couldn't open the application itself. Because I couldn't access the website at all, I wasn't sure if I was banned or what to do or if others were having the same issues. I went to my friend's house to use her computer since she could access the website and several articles suggested installing a VPN. Before leaving her house, I installed the client to double check that I could log in and wasn't banned and it worked. I logged out after confirming and uninstalled the client. I installed a free VPN at my house to see if I could log in to the website and it worked. I opened the Maple app and it worked. I tried logging in and saw the below error message. I'm not sure if I was banned for using the VPN, but I already tried restarting my modem, flushing my dns, reinstalling my Network Drivers, and resetting my TCP but none of them worked - I simply could not access the website/application at all. Since my friend's computer was the only way I could access the website, I wrote down as many suggestions as I could but I couldn't stay too long (we're just friends lol). If I was banned for logging in on her computer, then I'm sorry it was purely a smoke test to check if I was banned and will not happen again. She has never played before and does not plan on playing so I thought this would have been okay. Ban message when attempting to log in: This is an ID that has been deleted or blocked from connection.
You don't get banned for using a free vpn. The reason we don't advise using them is because the IP addresses are all recycled and a majority of those IP addresses were used by rule breakers in the past and were banned. There's been a lot of issues for people connecting, but it's something that isn't in our control, unfortunately. In the mean time, you should look into getting a paid vpn instead of a free one, since those are usually private and should be able to let you play.
Understood - I'm not that tech savvy (just rely on Google for everything) so I wanted to test out the free trial version of the VPN before actually purchasing because I wasn't sure if I set it up correctly or if that would have resolved the issue. Now that I know the VPN works, if I purchase a VPN and try again would I be able to log in successfully/get rid of the ban message?
Thanks Shane - for anyone having issues: I bought + installed the VPN (Ivacy) and upgraded to Dedicated IP. This resolved this for me and I can now access Maple
