Title says it all. I've been playing royals for about 3 days. Day one-no issues at all(aside from dealing with the anti-virus stuff) Day two- constant crashing any time i would change channel or exit the cash shop. Reinstalled the game and was fine for the rest of day Day three- no issues up until now where im encountering the same crashes that happen whenever i change channel or exit cash shop Not really sure what would be causing this, my hardware is beyond capable of running the game so that is none issue. maplestory has always been a finicky game in terms of stability but i just dont understand whats causing this. The game runs perfectly aside from changing channel and exiting cash shop, it is literally only these two things that cause the crash. After the game crashes im given the same message you would get as if the server is down and to check the website for any updates. I log back in and everything runs smoothly and as soon as i change channel, black screen, crash. -Yes mapleroyals is set as an exception for my antivirus/firewall. -Reinstalling seems to fix the issue for about a day, then starts reoccurring. I would prefer to not have to reinstall the game every 24hrs. -A system restart does nothing for the issue -No i do not crash when entering portals/PQ/using return scroll. It is only channel change and cash shop exit. If anyone has experienced the same issue or knows a fix please let me know, I've actually enjoyed my time so far but this issue is such a pain in the ass that im refraining from playing the game.
Your best bet is to try playing with the compatibility settings, either that or get VMWare (used for bossing and to help crash-proofing the game). Weird that it happens in CS/channel changes only though. Is this happening on all of your characters? Are you using a shared network by any chance?
Yeah i guess ill try messing with some of those. I only have the one character i've been playing on as i just started. It is weird that it only happens through cs/channel changes, you would think it would also happen through portals or any instance change in that case. Its a private network, shared by 3 people in my house, although i dont see how this would have any effect on the crashes. Im also running the game through fullscreen.exe as i havnt been able to get the windowed mode to launch. Im wondering if fullscreen vs windowed would have any effect on it.
If you only see FullScreen.exe you probably have the Windows Firewall quarantine some of the game files, take a peek on that.
