We go through the hardships of grinding on snails, shrooms and pigs. We are put under immense amounts of stress and you know sometimes we want a break. Please allow islanders to join events. It already sucks being isolated from the whole word, at least allow us to join the whole community in a fun event that don't occur quite frequently. Please?
I believe your statement is fair, everyone who plays should have a chance to experience and enjoy events. Am assuming most events transport you to Victoria island, wouldn't that cause problems as a islander.
The reason that islanders are made unable to join events is that they would enable smuggling of continental items back to the island. This is (at least in my own view) undesirable. (A side note regarding egalitarianism: the choice of the islander to stay on Maple Island is entirely voluntary. There is nothing prohibiting the islander from creating an alternative character with which to travel to Victoria Island for the aforementioned breaks.)
this is what I originally thought as well, but as said above, it's disabled so people can't smuggle items back to the island.
If you click the event npc to leave it sends you back to henesys, and you can then ~leaveevent later to go back to the map you joined the event from. (at least historically, not sure if it's fixed)
I find no need for this so I'm indifferent. Whenever I see an event I just relog into my hero and join it from there. I wouldn't want the chairs on my islander anyways - there's not enough people there to show them off to.
Having a 2nd character is probably the best option you have, i didn't consider the smuggling part since a few months ago i actually saw a buddy who was in maple island, no clue how he got there though. i believe he went there to try the gachapon which wasn't working at that time.
