I tried downloading 600x800 multiple times. When I click "Run after download", the window that pops up is the normal 800x600 size. But once I launch the game from the shortcut (leading to the mapleroyals.exe inside 600x800 file), it comes up as a very large window with zoomed in graphics, making it very blurry as well. Anyone know any fixes?

Seems like if I just go into the game and change the resolution from full screen to windowed mode, it fixes it.

(not sure if I'm allowed to post on a [solution given] thread but since constantly going from full screen to windowed seems like an annoying solution...)
I see you've already found a solution but I had the same problem previously too, where the 800x600 was almost the same size.

What did work for me to make it smaller was:
Solution 1) Changing display settings (Right click desktop -> display settings. Under scale and layout -> change the size of text, apps and other items, change 125%* (mine was the recommended 125%, idk about yours) to 100%. This changed my 800x600 client window size but not the 1024x768. This is annoying since it makes everything else smaller with it and I hated it, which made me try another solution.

Solution 2) (which is probably better)
Right click your 800x600 .exe file -> properties -> compatibility -> change high DPI settings -> enable high DPI scaling override with scaling performed by: application. So it doesn't do that 125% thing anymore.

Hey ZJZJ, Thank you for posting a solution XD

It just so happens that after the first time I did the "full screen and back to window mode", the client just magically fixed itself and I haven't needed to go full screen on any 800x600 clients.
