I've been meaning to bring this up for a while but I finally got around to it after discussing it with a few guildies and friends.

I noticed there's a fair amount of forum users with obnoxiously large signatures. To be blunt, these are annoying and serve no purpose, especially if it's just a giant collection of images and gifs. Would it be possible to implement a signature size limit, much like when we still used vBulletin? Forum signatures really shouldn't take up more than half a page.

    Cheers.

Agreed. A signature is meant to be simple, something to personalize the ending of your post or display some extra information (like character names, etc). I like simple ones, but large animated gifs get kind of obnoxious and are just not needed really.

Just in case people are wondering, signatures do not show up when on mobile. You'll have to manually go to their profile and check it out.

There's an option to toggle signatures off in your preferences menu.

That doesnt mean that we should have to forgo seeing everyone's signature just because some people decide to put 800 pixels height worth of gifs in their signature. @_@ I rather like seeing signatures ,but not huge ones. vBulletin's signature limit was nice and fair imo, and every forum needs to have limits like that.

Yes, I'm aware of that. However, I want to see people's signatures. I want to see what characters they play in-game; it's nice having that extra piece of information. I just don't want to see a giant wall of lookatmeIreallylikethisanime or something similar every time that person posts. Large signatures just take the focus away from the post as opposed to just complementing it.

Would it be possible to just toggle one person's signature off? I think we all have a few in mind that we wouldn't mind not seeing (ever) (ever ever) again.

Signatures are now cut off after three hundred and fifty vertical pixels. I'll have a look at properly implementing the different limits for different user classes later.

Yes: add their signature to your AdBlock or similar.
