Hey guys, recently I have been thinking of ways of trying to increasing a character HP, while still able to play the game without spending a lot of time on leeching or solving string theory on how hp washing works before playing your favourite character. So what if we can gain permanent HP increase by doing monster book collection? So for every time you complete a set, you gain a certain amount of HP. I believe by doing so, we can see other pros like encouraging Maplers to explore different aspect and areas of the game, without grinding all the places the guides or friends says. Is just an idea, to make gaining HP more fun without heavily relying on the common ''creating a mage, sell leech, buy APR'' route. This will not remove HP washing, or make Dark Knight less useful or means automatically everyone get more HP. They still need to work towards it. Update 2 I realised at the current moment, some cards might be impossible to collect like Lord Pirate, Papa Pixie or due to unreleased content like Pink Bean. Then I would like to re-suggest changing it to basing it on Medal Tier or a card completion set system Spoiler: Medal Tier 1. New Collector (30+ sets) Reward for completion: + 100 HP 2. Renowned Collector (80+ sets) Reward for completion: + 200 HP 3. Amazing Collector (150+ sets) Reward for completion: + 400 HP 4. Master Collector (250+ sets) Reward for completion: + 600 HP 5. I thought about that, hence why I didn't set the hp reward that high. And you still need hyper body or do some washing to survive Horntail, Toad, Shaolin or Neo Tokyo bosses if you want to fight them early. Plus, is not like collecting all the cards are a walk the park and is automatically awarded to you. Like the Black and Purple Tier requires you to farm bosses like Anego, CWKPQ, APQ, GPQ and Grandpa Boss. If I gone by this thread by Evan, less than 50 players have reached Legendary Collector (400 sets) even after a year. You still need to put significant time and effort into this to get rewarded. This is on top of wearing and trying to get those equipments and quest.
okay, thanks for the update. since I don't know to illustrate that monster book collecting is not a walk in the park.
Great Idea! I think that would be a great idea. Plus, it does not even hurt players that decide to HP wash. So yes do this! @the typical "but who gives me my NX back for washing miiii" -> Who the duck did tell you that you have a right to gain back NX once something changes? Also why do you feel using that NX was a waste? Stop being greedy!
i really like the idea of rewarding players for their efforts rather than relying on the regular HP washing also, for those who have washed up to 30k, well that's too bad really, as hp washing was intended to be optional, and this content affects everybody, so its fair game (looks at the HP quest and additional HP after job advances updates) those who achieved 30k before any additional hp updates: GIVE ME BACK MY NX AND MY MESOS, IT WAS SOOOOOOO HARD TO WASH TO 30K those who are planning to get 30k after any additional hp update: ayyyyyyyyy savings possible regular players: how the heck do yall even earn that much, and why even, 20k hp is already more than enough for ranged classes without hb, why go for 30k
Hp Washing is optional so hp washers do not deserve their mesos back I personally like this idea a lot , this can encourage players to explore maple world more especially some hidden street map with better spawn rate of monsters to hunt cards also increase the fun content of Mapleroyals. Hunting monster cards is not that easy too so HP is considered as a reasonable and great reward for those who got the required card sets.
Great ideia but intead of getting hp for each tier maybe add hp for each set like +5 +10 based on tier number of cards and difficuty
Sounds interesting. Would be more flexible, but on the downside, there would be no such "achievement" effect of tier-implementation. Another way - just to develop this further - would be to increase permanent HP by a little 100 or so for the "area medals" - e.g. the Mu Lung Explorer Medal or the Victoria Explorer Medal. You could add several maps more to make it more challenging but I like the idea to add more HP rewards to various parts of the game, that are almost forgotten by the vast majority of players. Imagine that maps are frequented more often again - how cool that is to meet a fellow adventurer in a secluded map where you would not expect anyone else than neckis or other pests -> guys, make the nostalgic adventurous feeling of early maple great again DDD *** tadaaa * maple trumpets **how punny (ok I stop sorry )
Red - 13 Orange - 61 Light Green - 97 Dark Green - 72 Light Blue - 50 Dark Blue - 33 Purple - 36 Black - 24 Yellow - 55 Total: 441 (Give or take 5) 2 HP increase per set Gainable HP: 882 5 HP increase per set Gainable HP: 2205 10 HP increase per set Gainable HP: 4410 Looks good!
IMO, I think Area Medals and this should be separated. Because I feel area medals are more like a collector item, also once you are doing the monster books you probably be exploring all those maps anyway. The only medal I think will not be automatically be done from doing monster collection is probably Leafre, becuz you need to enter the HTPQ map. But I think it be a great idea if getting those medals are part of their HQ quest, getting them is a requirement to start their own HP quest.
the first idea looks nice but guess it's complicated to be implemented but i like the last idea of current collector medals hp/mp to be increased to something like 2-3 time of what they give now looks easier to implement and a great way for players to farm them more
Master Adventurer Medal 1 x + 200 HP, + 200 MP 2 x + 400 HP, + 400 MP 3 x + 600 HP, + 600 MP Ergoth Bane 1x + 500 HP 2x + 1000 HP 3x + 1500 HP Maybe it would work for Ergoth Bane, my perspective is you need to put effort into the game to gain more HP, but the effort shouldn't be leeching or skipping early and mid-game to wash your character that you want to play.
sorry i meant the collector medals HP/MP increase i don't think it will be to broken to get more HP/MP as cards collecting needs individual work and can't be eazy traded/bought like HP quest
I have to say this is a really nice idea and I fully support it. I do not agree to having the area medals giving hp because people will just visit every map purely to get the medal which is not the purpose. Having them to hit every monster in the game for quite some time (depending on rng) requires more effort and players will start to party around to grind at different maps (for their cards).
I support this idea. Plus it will help beginners as well. I think people here forget that not everyone has time to leech or has billions of mesos to hp wash. I can see why new players who aren't used of hp washing would be demoralized. This would definitely help many.
If coding is very difficult, then maybe like what others have suggested. We can look at improving the HP stats of the medals. Level 0+ New Collector HP +500 MP +100 30 Sets of Monster Book Cards. Level 0+ Renowned Collector HP +700 MP +200 80 Sets of Monster Book Cards. Level 0+ Amazing Collector Watk +1 Matk +1 HP +1200 MP +300 150 Sets of Monster Book Cards. Level 0+ Master Collector Watk +2 Matk +2 HP +1500 MP +400 250 Sets of Monster Book Cards. Level 0+ Legendary Collector Watk +3 Matk +3 HP +2500 MP +500 400 Sets of Monster Book Cards. But I still prefer get the HP added directly to a character if possible.
