Use APR and wash back -MP +LUK or DEX whatever you need. Its Ok and totally the correct way. By using AP gained by level up to HP, you gain extra HP.
Yep, this is correct. Fresh AP put into HP will result in extra HP, saving more in the long run compared to; buying APR to -MP +HP.
Drop them chocolate, pick them up again, and never sort them. It is an official bug that has not yet found a solution on how to resolve.
