Since a few people have been confused as to exactly how Evolving Pets work in Maple Royals, I thought it best to clarify things a little.

How to get the Dragon/Robo you want
The Dragon/Robo eggs that you can purchase in the Cash Shop do not work in a GMS-like way. Instead of hatching into a baby when you click the egg, they hatch into a random Dragon/Robo (depending on the egg used) - the baby is just one of the random possibilities. Once your Dragon/Robo has hatched, you will be unable to re-evolve it. In other words, don't try to equip the egg if you want a specific Dragon or Robo.

If you want a specific Dragon or Robo (yes, the baby is one of the options you can choose), take the unequipped/unhatched egg plus a Rock of Evolution along to Ria the balloon girl in Ellinia (or Southperry, if you're an Islander), and she will tell you what other items you need to collect to get the Dragon/Robo of your choice. And yes, these are custom quests designed especially for Maple Royals.

Please be aware that the Southperry/Ellinia Ria quests are totally separate - if you leave Maple Island before completing Ria's quest there, you will have to start over with the regular version of the quest.

    How Evolving Pet commands work
If you have a baby Dragon or Robo, it will respond to your commands from the moment you equip it and talk to it, just like any regular pet would. The other Dragons/Robos, however, are different. They will not respond to any commands until they reach level 15. There is a reason for this: in Nexon's original Evolving Pets quest, you had to get your baby Dragon/Robo to level 15 and then take it to Garnox the Pet Scientist to be evolved. In other words, the evolved Dragons/Robos started out at level 15 in GMS, whereas here, they start out at level 1. Here, like in GMS, the fastest way to level your pet up is to use the right type of Cash Shop pet food. It takes 17 of whichever type of Cash Shop food your pet needs to get it from level 1 to level 15.

    "Bug"
Since we're dealing with eggs that don't work in a GMS-like manner (they just came like that in the source), the adult Dragons and Robos need to be levelled carefully until they reach level 15. To make sure they retain their new level, remember to relog with your adult Dragon/Robo still equipped as soon as possible after it levels up. If you unequip your newly levelled-up adult Dragon/Robo or visit the Cash Shop prior to relogging, it may lose closeness/level. I would guess that this happens because Nexon never intended these pets to be lower than level 15. Once they reach level 15, and you've relogged to save their progress, they're fine, and you can treat them like any regular pet. (The levelling bug may be fixable - we'd have to look into it.)

    Robo Pet Command Guides
These are currently available from Ria in Ellinia for 1k mesos each and from Roofus in Maple Island in exchange for certain items. We will hopefully be adding them to regular Pet Merchants soon!

Soooo, Do we buy the egg and leave it unhatched and get the evo. stone for the specific type? Or does it automatically hatch when we buy it? O-o

Did you read the post at all?

If you want it to hatch into a random type, then hatch it.

If you want it to evolve into a specific type, leave it unhatched, buy an evo rock, and do the quest for that specific type.

Have added another update to first post, explaining how to avoid a "bug" and telling players where to buy Robo Pet Command Guides.
