Tried installing VMware about a year ago, didn't work. Will try again using this guide and see if it works. Edit 1: Found there is a "drag and drop feature" for VMWare that allows you to drag files/folders from your Windows host to your Windows virtual machine. Saves some time to move MapleRoyals files Edit 2: Followed steps. Now receiving error "The procedure entry point InitializeCriticalSectionEx could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" when trying to run MapleRoyals. Edit 3: Was somehow able to fix error using this: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/update-60-client-startup-errors.137658/ (just moved dinput8.dll away from MapleRoyals folder). However, performance is still slow. Edit 4: Completely reinstalled VMWare. This time using version 6.0.4 instead of 6.0.7. "Drag and drop feature" seems to now cause crash. No matter. However, the performance issue is still there. For example, if I try to GFX, the entire game crashes.
Ah yes I did. The vmware tools and visual C++ parts you included are very helpful VMware runs mostly fine but Royals is laggy, especially when starting Royals or GFXing. GFXing actually causes DC. The funny thing is, if I disable compatibility mode, it runs super fast and GFXing flawlessly. However, idk if this is a legit fix. Will have to test in bosses.
It appears to be working well! No lag with VMware as long as keep compatibility mode disabled. Just haven't tested in bosses like HT yet.
