Hi all, I have recently made a new character, a Magician. I couldn't ensure that my character does not over level. - I need to be level 7 to leave Victoria Island. Being a level 7 to receive EXP from Olaf and the job instructor, I'll definitely be level 9. I have made 3 characters and two being level 9 and another still in Victoria. I noticed a thread made about this but it is concluded as 'not a bug'. Click here.
Why do you have to be level 7 to leave VICTORIA ISLAND? Do Olaf's quest at level 7, you should get to level 8 if the question is done.(Well if the EXP gap is close LOL) Then you choose the Path of Magician, you click the SECOND choice, most click the first, (Including me, I gotta remake my Mage twice.) thus getting the EXP and overlevel. By the way in the beginning, that girl with Maple Leaf tells you to not overlevel since you might lose some SP when doing advancement.
Level 7 is a requirement. What I did was, I did not do olaf's quest for my third character. I tried doing Olaf's quest(quiz) at level 7 and got to level 8 with 20% and carried on with Path of magician's quest which rewarded me 800 exp thus level 9 with 10% exp. Thanks for the information, but I still think it should be somewhat made known to new players. P/s: I know Sara tells us not to over level but whats important is how.
I believe Blade is suggesting that it is Maple Island you may not leave before reaching level seven (and paying one hundred and fifty Mesos), as opposed to Victoria Island. Having said that, since level seven is a necessary condition to reach Victoria Island, it follows that one also require this to move further.
You know what he means. Don't nitpick, please. Personally, I've always tended to avoid doing this (and certain other quests) on magicians-to-be because of over-levelling. Matt's looking into lowering the experience rate for pre-first-jobbers to 1x so that people are able to do all the Maple Island quests if they want.
I mean, you got to level 8 when you did Olaf's Quiz Quest. Then you should go to Grendel, you should have 2 options. Choose the second choice, advancing you into a Magician ; And not the first choice since it's Olaf's quest and will make you overlevel. I think you choosen the quest and overleveled. I always get to level 8 on Maple Island, (That's why I don't know you have to be level 7 to leave Maple Island, my bad) do Olaf's quest and choose the second option and advance into a Magician, then do the quest and get 1 level.
