When i did my 3rd job advancement there spawned 2 grendels instead of 1. but i dont know if this was suppose to happen but i didnt need to do the wisdom test for mage.
To confirm... You just had to kill one (or both) of the clones? And you got the black charm drop... took it to the NPC and then you became 3rd job without a wisdom test?
I only needed to kill 1 to get the charm and i could kill the 2nd for exp, then i went back the grendel to give him the charm. then i didnt get my power necklace and went to el nath. they sayd i needed to get the wisdom thing. and then i talked to them again and suddenly had 3rd job.
