    [UPDATED (7/30/13)] Fire's Suggestion Thread

    So, I have some ideas that come and go, so I decided to make a thread to log all the suggestions I may have. I had some ideas that Matt and I discussed prior to the forum rollback, but here are some others.

    • (7/17) Adding an "Item Recovery" section in the forums. After reviewing the Server Discussion section of the forum, I found a large number of the first page consisted of users trying to recover their items from any sort of FM/Frederick glitch. Perhaps a section in the forums dedicated to such a cause would help clear the discussion section of spam.
    • (7/17) PQ "Point" System. As of now, I believe that the demand to do PQs is relatively low, for two reasons. The first being the difficulty it is to form a party, especially at lower levels, and the second being the lack of KPQ or otherwise bugged PQs. However, even with the fully functioning PQs, Matt provided a list in a thread prior to the rollback so I'm not sure which ones are working/semi-working/not working, the number of players engaging in them is low. I think that a PQ "Point" System would be an enjoyable and easy system to put into place. Basically after every PQ, you would either receive a PQ "Point" item, could be any unattainable etc/use/w.e. item Matt chooses, which you would then be able to trade-in for at an NPC for not necessarily "OP" items but either unique items or buffs. Only thing I can think of right now is perhaps the "Super Scroll" Buff that the GMs do daily for perhaps 5 PQ points. It lasts about 20, 30? minutes and is not incredibly advantageous. Just prizes like that. You can also, if you are familiar enough with it Matt, create a SQL column dedicated to PQ points and then add/remove points based on that SQL, rather than an etc. system. Either way just an idea I had, sorry for the wall of text, tried to be thorough.
      (Can also apply to a Custom BPQ http://royals.ms/forum/showthread.php?t=433)

      (7/18) Event NPC. One of my favorite things about Private Servers is the liberty that GMs have in throwing events. With that said, I think to make things easier on GMs and even more exciting for Players is having an Event NPC almost like an Event Gachapon. So upon winning an in-game event, more along the lines of spontaneous GM-Hosted events, but also applicable to events like the SMC event, the winner receives an item which can redeemed at the Event NPC for a random item, so all in all an Event Gachapon. The prizes can range from Scrolls, NX, NX Items (Clothes/Pets/w.e.), Rare Equips, etc. The point would be to not saturate the market with these items (If they are rare), but to make wanting to win an event all the more desirable. It would also make it easier on GMs in deciding what prize to give, since it would be consistent.

      (7/30) Forum Split. The Help, Advice, and Guide section of the forums is extremely messy and disorganized, I recommend splitting the forum into two subsections: Help/Advice, Guides.

      (7/30) EVENTS EVENTS EVENTS. For the month that I have been on this server, I have never once seen an in-game GM-hosted event. I don't just mean on-going events like SMC, an actual "Hide and Seek" or "Jump Quest event. Personally, I really enjoy those events and think it stimulates a more wholesome community. So, I would, personally, like to see a lot more of these. I know there are always some GMs on at least 12 of the 24 hours in a day, if not more, an event would take no more than 10 minutes, please help break the monotony of grinding!!!!!

    In regards to Custom Content. Matt, I'm not sure how you feel about custom-content in general, because I know we do strive for a gMS-like server. However, I don't think custom-content will have a negative impact on the server, in fact it can excite and even attract old and new users. We can still attain that goal of a nostalgic-MS with CC, as long as it doesn't overpower the server.

    Completely agree. I think the SMC is a great example of an interesting event with custom prizes that makes the MR experience more unique.

    The Frederick glitch is almost nonexistent nowadays, but that would've been a good idea a few weeks ago.

    Your PQ points system sounds like a very interesting concept, I definitely think it would cause more people to utilize the PQs that Matt has been working so hard to add into the game.

    I don't know what you mean by custom content but if you're referring to something that would cause us to have to download custom files, I know a very large portion of the server is against this and from what I've seen Matt is as well.

    @David

    I didn't mean that sort of custom content, simply custom Quests, PQs, Gameplay Systems, Events, things of that sort. The kind of custom content that is not game changing but rather game enhancing.

    EDIT: Added another suggestion.
