I have been playing corsair since July 2016 pre-New Source. As I realize the old guide is outdated due to major changes from New Source, some of information about Corsair is misleading and incorrect(ex: HP washing, SP build and so on), I would like to write a guide as a correct recommendation to any newbie who wants to start a Corsair or anyone who would like search deeply about Corsair. The owner of the above Corsair guide thread has retired and I think it is a pity for a fun, unique, strong class like Corsair. Anyone who read this guide should treat this as a recommendation instead a model to follow to. I am willing to listen and change my view if there is any better game-play that I do not know about Corsair. Do not hesitate to share any new techniques, metas or methods with me on how to play Corsair. I will try to respond to all the comments on this thread about Corsair game play. Enjoy reading! 2. Introduction Welcome everyone who want to start a Corsair! Congratulation, you have chosen one of the best, unique, fun class among all classes in Mapleroyals. However, there is something that you should know first before you create a pirate, training to level 30 and job advance to a Gunslinger. The adventure of a Corsair to explore the beauty of Mapleroyals is not easy. You have to prepare for a hard experience of training pre-4th-job, and post-4th-job relies heavily on bossing. The ship mechanics is something that you should research before making a decision to play a Corsair (See the Battleship mechanics section below). Corsair is an absolute bossing class, not grinding class due to the lack of mobbing skill set. To clarify the definition of a Corsair, we are ranged DPS class. This means, we deal high damage to single target at a time. Other classes have their buff to contribute to the party, yet, we have completely no buff to give to party members. However, our role in a party has always been a leading damage dealer to a boss thanks to our high output damage and not many classes can compare with us in this respect. Raw damage of a Corsair is high and stable thanks to our secondary stat STR. We are categorized as TOP #1 DPS in the DPS chart, something that we can be proud of. 3. Pros & cons of a Corsair ProsCons Extremely high damage output, highest DPS among all classes. Very unique, fun class and game play thanks to skill Batteship. Does not require a huge amount of fund to be strong. Benefits from all party buffs. Does not rely on buffs to have high output damage. DPS depends on being on the ship. No party buff to contribute to party. Pre-4th-job leveling is hard and post-4th-job leveling is completely on bossing. Low HP if not washed More active on paying attention when bossing than other classes. Low avoid ability. Costly when it comes to washing HP. 4. AP Build For ability points, as a Corsair, our primary stat is Dex, secondary stat is Str. I will discuss about how to build, optimal AP to benefit Corsair the best. Other ways have its own pros and cons but this way which is below would be benefit the best for Corsair as far as I know. Starting on Maple-island, you will need 20 dex to job-advance to pirate, just put all the AP that you receive from leveling and Job-advance to Dex until level 90. This way, you can maximize your damage on training. By level 90, you would have some decent equips that add some STR to your base stats. It could be a Zakum helm (which adds 13~17 Str), a Broken Glass (which adds 1 STR), an White Pioneer (which adds 28~30 STR). By equip these things and start adding some STR stat, you would have enough STR to wear a Concerto (which requires 100 STR to wear) or when you are level 110, your STR is enough to wear a Dragon Revolver (which requires 110 STR to wear) Do not worry because you cannot wear normal equip guns while training in the middle game(10-109), Mapleroyals provides a special weapon gun called “Maple gun”, which requires no STR to wear them ( ). 5. SP Build 1) 1st Job Skill Skill Distribution at Level 30: 61 Points Total 20/20 Somersault Kick [MAX] 10/10 Dash [MAX] 11/20 Bullet Time 20/20 Double Shot [MAX] Corsair does not have many skills at first job compare to other classes. Somersault Kick is the only AOE skill we have here. It would increase your training time since it can hit multiple targets with decent damage. At first, you would want to max this skill first for the ease of training. You should find any weapon that have high attack stat like a spear, …. After that, you would want to run faster, you will want to max Dash. Dash is a skill when you double press arrow key, it will be triggered and you will have a buff of +30 speed and + 10 jump. Next, you will want to have a small boost on your accuracy and avoidable, this skill isn’t really worth as it only adds literally a small number of avoid and accuracy. Believe me, with or without this skill, Corsair is always the worst when it comes to avoid. Next, you will want to max Double Shot because it’s the core skill you need to max in order to unlock 2nd job skill. 2) 2nd Job Skill Skill Distribution at Level 70: 121 Points Total • 20/20 Gun Mastery [MAX] • 20/20 Invisible Shot [MAX] • 20/20 Recoil Shot [MAX] • 10/10 Wings [MAX] • 20/20 Blank Shot [MAX] • 20/20 Gun Booster [MAX] • 20/20 Bullet Time [1st job] [MAX] • 2/20 Grenade Your main attack skill at 2nd job is Invisible shot as it can hit 3 target with good enough damage. First point to this skill. However, Gun Mastery is even more important than Invisible Shot as it will stabilize your damage, increase your damage dealt to monster. Next, you will want your character to be more flexible when it moves. Put 5 points in wing to unlock Recoil Shot. After that, just max both of them to have a better moving skill. Recoil Shot can be considered as a Flash Jump of Corsair except it has a small time of cd, about 500ms~1 sec doesn’t allow constant usage, but it is handy enough when you want to reach higher platform or to move faster in vertical plane. Blank shot is the next skill that would help your training easier as it can stun up to 3 monsters. Max level would be the best since it 100% stuns 3 mobs. Use this skill first to stun the monster then use Invincible shot to finish them. Next, you will want to shoot faster to kill monster faster. Max Gun Booster. It would increase your time of killing a mob. After this you can max Bullet time at 1st job skill because the Grenade skill is useless. It will let you kill mobs faster. 3) 3rd Job Skill Skill Distribution at Level 120: 151 Points Total 20/20 Burst Fire [MAX] 26/30 Ice Splitter 30/30 Flamethrower [MAX] 30/30 Octopus [MAX] 15/30 Gaviota 30/30 Homing Beacon [MAX] Burst Fire is your main attack skill at 3rd job. Max it immediately when you reach 3rd job. Other skills rather than Burst Fire are just support to your attack set. Ice splitter does a better job than Invincible shot in 2nd job skill, it can stun a mob longer than invincible and up to 6 mobs at level 26. Ice splitter at level 26 has max time of freeze, higher level only increase your damage dealt by this skill. Flamethrower would have a better AOE damage than Ice Splitter, should max it after Ice Splitter. Other skills, Octopus, Gaviota and Homing Beacon are pretty useless in 3rd job, they are all used to unlock 4th job skills. Place 15 points in Gaviota to unlock Air Strike in 4th job. Max Octopus to unlock Octopi and max Homing Beacon to unlock Bullseye, 1 of core skill of Corsair. 4) 4th Job Skill Congratulation, you are at 4th job now. This is when your journey will start a new page. However, your ship is still weak and vulnerable. Corsair isn’t like mage that would peak extremely fast once reaching 4th job, but I would say, it is definitely easier for Corsair in gaining exp to level up. Everybody play Corsair for different purposes. And that way, all skills of Corsair work for different ways. If you want to farm Heartstopper, I recommend you to max Wrath of Octopi first because you can spawn up to 4 and can cover the whole map. If you want grinding and training, you should put points in Elemental Boost, Torpedo, Air Strike & Rapid Fire. They are some skills which give you high damage and finish multi mobs very fast. If you want to hunt Bigfoot / Headless Horseman after 4th job, you should put at least 1 point in Air Strike. Air Strike can be used to clear mobs, spawn HH (see Bossing section below). On the other hand, the majority of Corsair would like to play for bossing aspect. So let’s checkout this skill-build of 4th job for Bossing aspect specially. From level 120, you should be really hyped to have new set of skills. Trying a very unique skill that other jobs WOULD NEVER have – Battleship. You will put your first 3 points to battleship, Battleship Cannon and Rapid Fire. Battleship is your main skill to have your Cannon activated, Cannon is your main skill which shoot 4 bullets into 1 target with a huge damage. Old guide said you should put 1 point in Torpedo but with the buff of Corsair in latest update patch, it is better to add 1 point in Rapid Fire rather than Torpedo. Level 1 Torpedo only hit for 3 mobs, we can replace this skill with Flamethrower. Moreover, level 1 Rapid Fire out-DPS max level of Burst Fire! Next, you will want to max out Battleship in order to increase your ship survivability. Your ship will have 40k HP with this skill once reaches level 10. You will want to increase your damage. Max out Battleship Cannon. And then Bullseye to maximize your damage. Bullseye is an excellent skill that every range class would want to possess. It focuses all your attack to 1 single target until it disappears in the map and increases 20% damage to your total damage. Once you max out this 3-skill set, your will hit like a BEAST! Next you will want to maximize your DPS even when your ship is in cool down, max out Rapid Fire, it got buffed in last update patch (Thanks GMs). Use this skill when you are off the ship! Next one is Wrath of Octopi since, it a great support skill. Use this skill along with Cannon, you will get even higher DPS. Try to use this skill with bosses that do not case Weapon Cancel, you will reach a higher DPS! Next one is Maple Warrior, you can keep this at level 9 because at level 10, it only adds 30 second duration and does not increase any %, the same at level 19 and level 20. The combination of Octopi and Rapid Fire does like 90% damage of Cannon. Which is a good meta when you are off-ship. 6. 4th Job Skill Books Note that any skill’s Mastery book level 30 that I didn’t mention is because it does not exist. I will update it if the game release higher level of mastery books! Rapid Fire Default skill of Corsair. No need quest to unlock this skill. Rapid Fire level 20 mastery book: Dark Wyverns and Manon Rapid Fire level 30 mastery book: Sharks and Leviathan Bulleyes Default skill of Corsair. No need quest to unlock this skill Bulleyes level 20 mastery book: Nest Golem and Pianus Elemental Boost Default skill of Corsair. No need quest to unlock this skill Elemental Boost level 20 mastery book: Rexton and Pianus Wrath of the Octopi Default skill of Corsair. No need quest to unlock this skill Wrath of the Octopi level 20 mastery book: Risell Squid and Pianus Battleship Talk to Kyrin. Then select the second option to fight her. Survive for 2 minutes and you will be given the skill. Easy! Spoiler: Video: How to get Battleship The skill is given maxed at level 10, there is no mastery books for this skill. Cannon / Torpedo Defeat 150 (Gigantic) Spirit Vikings and collect 50 of their drops. Gigantic Spirit Vikings for Torpedo and normal Spirit Vikings for cannon. Spoiler: Video: how to get Battleship Cannon and Torpedo Cannon level 20 mastery book: Dark Wyvern and Griffey Cannon level 30 mastery book: Red Wyvern and Lyka Torpedo level 20 mastery book: Skelosaurus and Pianus Torpedo level 30 mastery book: Red Dragon Turtle and Papulatus Hypnotize Talk to the girl in the Training Room. You then pick the second option to be transported to a special area. There are 3 mini jump quests here. The jumping isn’t difficult but there are pink and blue Mu Lung snakes here. If you touch one, you will start from the very beginning of the entire thing. When you get to the end, click the NPC and you will be transported to another special map where you must protect the NPC much like HPQ and EPQ from Sage Cats, Book Ghosts, and Peach Monkeys (I forgot if you actually have to do this part in Royals. The JQ part you definitely have to do). Afterwards, you are given the skill! Spoiler: Video: How to get Hypnotize Hypnotize level 20 mastery book: Papulatus Air Strike Spoiler: Video: How to get Air Strike Air Strike level 20 mastery book: Zakum Air Strike level 30 mastery book: Horntail 7. Battleship mechanics So, let say you have a ship, and it has HP as the formula below: For example: you are at level 140 with maxed Battleship skill: Battleship Health = [10 * 4000] + [(140-120) * 2000] Battleship Health = [40,000] + [(20) * 2000 ] Battleship Health = [40,000] + [40,000] Battleship Health = 80,000 Whenever you are on the ship, your ship will take the same damage that you take. The most critical damage that your ship would have to deal to is 1/1(which makes your HP and MP to 1), at this damage, it reduces your ship health = your current HP-1. So if your character has 6.500 HP at the time you take 1/1, your ship reduces 6499 HP if you are on the ship. If your character has 10.000 HP, ship reduces 9.999HP when you take 1/1 damages in ship form. HP potion doesn’t affect your ship. There is no way you can heal your ship, recover its lost HP! If you take many damage, make your ship HP to 0, it will break! When your ship breaks, your skill Battleship has a cool-down of 90 secs for all levels, so I recommend you to max it as soon as possible as it is not 5 minutes cool-down like Old Source. The technique is simply dismounting your boat before an attack hits you and then remounting afterwards. You will tank the damage while you’re not on your boat so your boat does not suffer from any damage at all. At Zakum, your boat can last an insane amount of time if you’re at the body due to Zak telegraphing all of its attacks basically, except the lightning seal attack. There is an animation for dismounting, but the animation doesn’t matter. Once you press the button to dismount, even if it looks like you’re still in the animation for the dismount, your boat will not take any damage. This boat mechanic is the reason why Corsairs have to be so much more active than other classes in Zak and bosses in general. You have to dodge 1/1s or else say goodbye to your boat in no time. If you’re too distracted, then your DPS will be a fraction of what it could be, because you’re taking unnecessary damage on your boat, which DIRECTLY lowers your DPS by increasing the amount of time that you’re not on your boat. As Tim said in his comment in old Corsair guide, you could wash a lot, make your character have a lot of HP. Then you can use lower % HP potion but not 100%, in this way, when you taking 1/1 damage, your ship only suffers the damage of [your current HP - 1]. This method has it that way but I would say, if you doing this way, you are playing a Dark Knight, which you have to worry and keep your eyes on the HP + dismounting, even more active when bossing as if you not using suitable HP potion, pet doesn’t heal you in right time, your character could die in a flash and you also have to pay attention in boss’s attack, or your ship would take unnecessary damage and lose a lot of potential DPS! 8. HP Washing Ever since New Source got implemented, it is necessary for Corsair to do HP washing. One could argue that, there is no need for Corsair to do HP washing because of the ship mechanics, the more HP you have, the more HP you lose on the ship, the sooner the ship breaks, but to me, there are still a lot of advantages a washed Corsair could benefit from rather than that of an unwashed Corsair. Since New Source made HT to hit highest 9,700 damage, it is impossible for Corsair to gain that much HP without passing through a process of HP washing. Another high-dealing damage boss that Corsair should be afraid of is Toad, which can deal direct 14,475 damage. On the other hand, in a Horntail run, HB (Hyper Body) buff is not always provided. Some of attackers are rejected due to absence of HB buff and not meeting the minimum HP requirement. It is another reason that a Corsair should HP wash. People play Corsair with different purposes. Here are some HP goals for Corsair from Shiyui that you might want to look through: 6125 HP: Horntail with Hyper Body 9800 HP: Horntail without Hyper Body 10,188 HP: Castellan (Toad) with Hyper Body 11500 HP: Pink Bean with Hyper Body 12,100 HP: Bigfoot touch damage without Hyper Body 16,300 HP: Castellan (Toad) without Hyper Body 18,400 HP: Pink Bean without Hyper Body 18,750 HP: Anego slap damage without Hyper Body 23,000 HP: Horntail Head B touch damage and The Boss (Grandpa) without Hyper Body Here is the detail link about HP washing: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/hp-washing-calculator.111127/ HP Washing number from Plenty’s table: HP GainedMP LostMinimum MPMinimum HP AP from level-up16 - 20-16(18 x Level) + 111(22 x Level) + 380 AP from AP Reset20 9. Bossing Corsair is considered as one of the best attacker when it comes to bossing. This comes from a great skill set, good raw and stable damage output of Corsair and a great control of player in any situations. It is better to try spawning some Octopi while spamming Cannon, it would be a lot more DPS than original method (spamming Cannon and dismounting). You should also know the combination of Rapid Fire and Octopi, which deals 90% damage of Cannon itself. Let’s have a specific look on method to do some of the common bosses in Mapleroyals’s world. 1) Headless Horseman The very first area boss that you can solo from early level. Attacking this boss is very straightforward, you first throw your egg with Homing Beacon (Outlaw) or Bullseye (Corsair) to get your shot directly to the boss and ignore the Jr.Wraith, then you spam Burst Fire or Cannon until it dies. You can save the Jack O'Lantern to have a Deputy Star in the future or can smega to sell it for a small profit. You can use Gaviota or Air Strike to spawn BF or HH : 2) Pianus Pianus is a boss that you mostly kill for skill books and Miniature Pianus, which you need in order to obtain Hero’ Will skill. Easily categorized as one of the most annoying bosses, and yet also one of the most ignored and abandoned bosses. Pianus spawns in Aqua Road - The Cave of Pianus, and both sides can spawn and attack at the same time. Both sides can also cast weapon/magic cancel. You need about 4.6k to 5k HP to survive the unavoidable magic damage from the laser beams they can shoot across the map. Left side Pianus is weaker in HP, but makes up for it with frequent seals, dispels and 1/1 attacks. Right side Pianus has more HP, but doesn’t dispel or seal, it deals about 5k3 - 5k5 damage. Both sides can summon Blood Booms, which are just like the bombs at Pap, except they don't explode from being touched. However, they will explode if you cannot one hit them with 10k damage or more. When they explode, they can deal up 8-10k damage. Pianus is only hunted for the chance of SE20 and Rush 30, as well as Shadow Shifter 20/30. Left side only drops level 20 mastery books, whereas right side only drops level 30 books. 3) Papulatus To spawn Papulatus, you need to do a chain of quests that isn't hard, but can take a while. After you do the quest line, you acquire the Piece of Cracked Dimension, which you can repeat once every 24 hours. To summon Papulatus, you must drop the Piece of Cracked Dimension in the missing slot (like a puzzle piece) right of the center of the map. The hard part can be perfectly aligning the Piece of Cracked Dimension because if it isn't directly over the crack on the wall, it will not summon. Unlike other jobs, this boss is quite annoying because of a lot of abnormal debuffs that can be casted on you. He can stun, dispel you, and on top of that, he does 1/1s quite often. The good thing is that all of his attack movements have an animation signal to tell what attack he will use. As a Corsair, you should learn all of his signals, to dismount at the right time. Notice the yellow-dark-bubble-chat-like pops up above him and the yellow magic-circle appears at his abdomen, he is about to use the 1/1 skill. Notice the blue magic-circle appears on this abdomen, he is about to use the lightning attack. He also spawns a mini bomb like Pianus, top-platform bombs deal around 8,000 damage when it touches you. Be careful to look around, you don’t want to die with this ridiculous reason bomb. After kill the body, the real Papulatus leaves his Clock body and flies around the map, this form has literally no HP, but one thing you should watch out is that you will need 1 of your 4-line-cannon deals 10,000+ damage or else you cannot knockback him. One more thing is that, this form deals 5,600 damage if touch. So be careful or you would die in a flash when you almost kill him. 4) Bigfoot Bigfoot is the most common area boss for Corsair to try out. This guy has i-frame, which is why it is really annoying and discouraging for other classes than Corsair. For anyone who do not know what I-frame is (a specific time when any attack is unable to hit the target, making it invincible). But do not worry my fellow Corsairs, Corsair has an upper hand when it comes to fighting Bigfoot. First when you see a Bigfoot with no owner, you will want to drag and pin it into a corner, right or left is depends on your preference. When you see a Bigfoot, first attract it with simple skill, Burst Fire or Bullseye and then run into 1 direction (left or right). When you reach the corner, activate your Dash skill, then quickly use Recoil Shot to jump over it, after that, lock it in corner with Burst Fire, then go on ship and start whittling down its HP. It will be hard to imagine just by words. Look at the video I attach below. One more thing to know is that, Bigfoot touch is 11,700 damage, Corsair will be 1hit-KO immediately in low level. So be careful. To have your Bigfoot killed faster, even though it has i-frame, it is not a problem to Corsair. Make sure to use Gun Booster, you are able to hit it 100% with no missing bullets. It’s all about the distance between you and Bigfoot. Try to adjust it, move forward, backward a little bit to be in right position. Bigfoot is best solo for Corsair than doing with party! Spoiler: Absolute position to kill BF for Corsair As I mention above, there is a position for Corsair to have your bullet 100% hit the Bigfoot. Phantom forest has 2 types of map: When the space is short, you can place your ship just behind the tree like the picture above, you would be 100% hit the Bigfoot with no missing bullet! When the space is long, place your ship just behind the left eye of the tree like the picture above, you will hit Bigfoot with no missing bullet! Apparently, this technique is only applied for Phantom forest map Twisted Paths You can tell, this is a short space's one! 5) Kacchuu Musha Kachuu Musha touch is 12-13k damage. If you go with a pt, just spam cannon. 6) Anego Anego is a very straightforward boss. You get on the right side of her, then use Rapid Fire to shoot it into the left wall before mounting on your ship and beating it up with Battleship Cannon. It’s extremely easy once you have 5.5k HP, but pinning Anego before that happens is a bit complicated. It’s not 100%, but it’s honestly probably the best solo Corsair method out there. If you don’t have 5.5k HP, though, and you have a duo partner, please just let the duo partner pin. It’s not worth the chance of death. For the part of solo pinning an Anego, because the range of cannon is longer than Rapid Fire, you could jump on the boat and shoot slowly, once she gets knock back, move forward a bit until she stuck into the left wall. Do not use Bullseye when pinning her, because you have to kill mobs in the way of pinning her. You can also use Flamethrower/Ice splitter to blow mobs away/freeze them and knock Anego back. The method for having more than 5.5k HP is easy as pie. You agro Anego and you just run forward until it shoots you with its gun then during the invincibility frames, you Recoil Shot over it. I’ve also included a video of this method, although you should be able to do it on your first try, honestly. In the video, I only need a Gelt, and 2 HS to finish an Anego at level 143, Corsair is A BOSSING BEAST! 7) Zakum Zakum is the most common boss that you would see when people smega recruiting party. Corsair needs some techniques and experience to makeup a good role in Zakum. At arm stage, it is an advice for Corsair to start at the bottom left doing 7th arm and 5th arm. This is because of the immobility of Corsair. Corsair is a range class but has weak flexibility. When you start at the top right, there would be a lot of attacks (mostly from 2 top arms and arm 4) which knock you to the left, make you fall off the platform. You will have to adjust position and it hella annoyed and lost tons of DPS. While starting at the bottom left, you can shoot constantly to arm 5 and 7 without even dismount or fix your position to make your shoot hit target. This is if your party has good range attack enough, or else, basically, if your party has poor range attack, you should help other members to down 2 top arms asap. If you have to start in top platform, don’t worry friends. Spoiler: When you start Zakum at top-platform In top platform, when you shooting arm 2, you should look at arm 1 and 2, notice the blue and purple magic-circle appears when it attacks and you will dismount in time. Blue magic-circle does 1 damage, you don’t have to dismount on this but with purple magic-circle, it does like 1k2 damage It does 1 damage It does 1k2 damage. Dismount! In this position, arm 1, arm 2 and arm 4 be able to hit you, so you can notice and dismount in time. You can use Recoil Shot to quickly jump backward when you are near fall-down. Remember to spawn Octopi when you dismount for better DPS! Notice the fire-rain-like skill of Zakum, if you want to do arms 3 and 5 when other arms are gone, yellow circle position is out of range of his skill, safe zone for you! Spoiler: When you solo Zakum as a Corsair If you are in a solo run, the routine of killing arms should be: 1 > 4 > 2 > 3 > 6 > 8 > 7 > 5 You first attack arm 1, at that position, only arm 1 and arm 2 hit you, you will be easy to notice and dismount in time. You then move to arm 4 and 2, killing it at the same time, notice the telegraphing when it casts. Move to arm 6 and 8 after arm 4 and 2. When arm 2 and 4 are down, this position is safe to stand on, you are able to hit arm 6 and 8 with least attack! In body stage, there is not much for Corsair to know except the most important thing – Zakum attack. I have showed you some telegraphing that Zakum would do before it actually makes the skill. Your duty is to learn it and dismount as quick as you can if you know you cannot dodge it in ship form. There is another method to do Zakum as a Corsair, which is quite similar to Hero. Ship is the most important thing that you would want to protect it, or by other mean, suffer less damage from boss. Corsair can go to other side (right side) of Zakum, where all the mob is filled. In this side, you won’t be able to hit by Zakum’s attack because mob hit you constantly that you will be in invincible frame. Mob only hits you for less than 1k damage in touch, while Zakum with its attack will hit you for 2000~ damage and with all the bad debuffs that will drop your DPS. Moreover, when you get hit by mobs around, you won’t suffer any abnormal debuffs like lock-skill, stun, blind, …, you don’t need to stop and use all-cure to lose your DPS. However, it does have down-side aspects, you will have to adjust your position to make sure you have good distance to Zakum, because if it knocks you to the left, you will be bumped right into the body, so be careful, you will have to go to left side to receive buffs from party, but you should go when Zakum casts weapon cancel, so that you won’t lose any DPS. I have learnt this meta from @ChristL, shout out to him. Video to demonstrate this method: So here are some telegraphing that Zakum would do during the run: Ayy, he is about to use 1/1s, which make your HP and MP go down to 1. Dismount quick! Ahh, he is about to use the lightning attack, which would deal 2,400~ damage and have a “lock-skill” effect. Dismount quick! Oh, he’s about to summon some random pillars around the map, when it hits you, it does 2,500~ damage and stuns you for 4 seconds, look out if you are at the pillar target area, you should try to dodge right away. Here is a video of Intensity mounting and dismounting in Zakum. He also uses mobs to protect his ship from Zakum’s attacks. 8) Krexel Krexel is the common boss that you can start fighting at level 130. The image above has showed the position where you should stand to have your shot actually hit the targets and most likely to dodge his attacks. Krexel has 2 common attack movements you have to notice: Energy Beams & Green Sprout. Here is a video on how to do Krex’s left eye. Right eye’s one coming SoonTM 9) Horntail Thanks to Eli, he has made a wonderful and detailed guide specially for Corsair on how to dismount and avoid attack from pre-Head till the end in Horntail properly: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/corsairs-guide-to-dismounting-at-horntail.115011/ 10) Emperor Toad Thanks to @MushroomYoyo’s test, it is advised that you need to dismount after the cd of Octopi is over, try to spam Cannon and Octopi together, this way you will do better DPS than traditional way, only spamming Cannon and dismount! 11) 5 Bosses from Crimsonwood Keep PQ Spoiler: Bosses information PictureNameDescriptions Red Nirg Level: 130 HP: 255,000,000 MP: 10,000,000 EXP: 4,550,000 The Warrior Grand Master. Margana Level: 130 HP: 200,000,000 MP: 50,000,000 EXP: 4,300,000 The Mage Grand Master. Rellik Level: 130 HP: 231,000,000 MP: 20,000,000 EXP: 4,450,000 The Archer Grand Master. Hsalf Level: 130 HP: 233,000,000 MP: 20,000,000 EXP: 4,510,000 The Thief Grand Master. Heron Level: 130 HP: 240,000,000 MP: 20,000,000 EXP: 7,875,000 The Pirate Grand Master. Corsair should do the mage boss (Margana) while other range attackers attack pirate boss (Heron). Dismount when Mrgana is about to use her poison mist skill. Heron is only does 1 damage with his knock-back shark skill. When you and your range attackers finish Mage boss and Pirate boss. You can ask Melee team to split up other 3 bosses and have them pin at a corner, then all range attacker including you attack them. 12) The Boss This guy is your final enemy, and he’s a pain in the ass. He doesn’t hit for very hard unless you touch him (which deals about 20-22k damage), but he has two main attacks. A purple lightning attack which hits across the map and 1/1s attack, and a hurricane/tornado-like attack which ALSO 1/1s AND seals. He will also spam these attacks frequently. Either have your bishops cast Holy Shield on you, or bring a lot of all cures. This Boss is the nightmare of Corsair because 2 of his attack are 1/1. The only way for Corsair to attack him is to have other attacker pin him that he cannot pull out any attack, that way you can start spamming cannon on his face. 13) Ravana The final boss of Golden Temple. It can also drop rocks from the ceiling, either by casting a spell or by jumping. It can also jump into the air and fire a laser on both sides. Its middle arms can create lightning bolts to strike from above. It will summon Blue, Red, and Stone Goblins when in trouble to back it up, as well as heal itself and surrounding enemies and raise the Attack of nearby enemies. Its number of arms are reminiscent of Zakum. 14) Targa Once the Angry Targa has been killed, this form is summoned. It gains a boost in both its offensive and defensive capabilities proving to be more formidable compared to its previous forms. Other than that, its abilities remain the same. Once this form is killed, two black blobs controlling the boss will fall out. It also drops the Targa Hat, which surpassed Zakum Helm's stats. 15) Scarlion Once the Angry Scarlion Boss has been killed, this form is summoned. It gains a boost in both its offensive and defensive capabilities proving to be more formidable compared to its previous forms. Other than that, its abilities remain the same. Once this form is killed, two black blobs controlling the boss will fall out. It also drops the Scarlion Boss Hat, which surpassed Zakum Helm's stats. 16) Pink Bean The boss of the Temple of Time. 17) Wulin Yaoseng Thanks to MushroomYoyo! It is adviced when fighting this boss, Corsair should use some trap objects in the map to avoid attack from Wulin! 10. Recommendation Equips 1) Helmet Level 10: Any kind of Bandana, these hat will be a great start for a Corsair , just scroll hat with dex scroll to enhance your damage in early game, good for training and leveling. Level 50: Zakum helmet [End-game] This is your end-game helmet since no helmet is better than this. You will want to have this helmet with good stat bouncing from 20-22 stat at STR and DEX clean. If you get a good Zakum helm, you should chaos it and scroll all the rest slot with Dex scroll Your dream stat would be 25 str and 35+ dex helm. 2) Gun Level 10: Pistol You start your journey with this gun from Job advance, with enough attack stat. Level 35/43/64/77: As a gunslinger, I recommend you should find and use these gun to benefit the best from HP washing and output damage since these guns can give you some additional DEX stat. Find or scroll yourself a decent one to use all along the road until you can reach end-game weapon. The detail monsters that drop these guns: Spoiler: Maple Guns sources This level 77 maple gun is from anniversary event Level 100/110: Concerto / Dragon Revolver [end-game] These are end-game gun is the goal of your Corsair. Planning on a Corsair, you should find a gun that with 100+ attack, that will go with you until you upgrade it to a perfect gun, which is 119 attack for Concerto and 123 attack for Revolver. Spoiler: Perfect Concerto and Revolver Concerto is one of the hardest weapon to find in Mapleroyals. Even though it is dropped from a wide variety of monster, yet most of them are bosses: Griffey, Manon, Dark Cornian, Leviathan, Zakum3, Nest Golem, Raika, Horntail, Krexel. Dragon Revolver is even harder to find. I believe most of the Revolver in Free Market atm are from Nalitus gachapon. There is another method to get a Revolver, but it consumes time and requires some works out around. It is CRAFTING. All the detail are mentioned in the guide. Thanks to Lemur's Dragon Weapons Crafting Guide Spoiler: How to craft Dragon Revolver Basically you will need: 3 Power Crystals 5 Adamantium Plates A Concerto. 20 Dragon Scale & 20 Dragon Spirit: Drops from: Griffey, Manon, Dark Cornian, Green Cornian, Red Dragon Turtle, Blue Dragon Turtle, Brexton, Rexton, Dark Wyvern, Red Wyvern, Blue Wyvern, Jr. Newtie, Nest Golem, Skelegon, Skelosaurus. Gun Production Stimulator: Drops from: Sage Cat, Captain, Green King Goblin, Hobi, Guardian of Memories. 120,000 Mesos With the Gun Production Stimulator, your Revolver will have the attack stat in Godly range (73 ~ 88) depend on your luck according to Mapleroyals library. If you craft without a Stimulator, your Revolver will have a fixed attack stat of 78 attack. 3) Bullet & Capsule Level 10-109: You can use these bullet all the long way from level 10 to level 109 before you switch to the final bullet. If you find any higher level of bullet, you should use it right away. Once again, Corsair’s damage pre-4th-job is mehh, so using level 10 bullet to level 109 on training is fine. Level 110: Eternal Bullet [end-game] This is your end-game bullet called Eternal bullet. This is bullet mostly from NLC gachapon. Unlike NL, their end-game star is Balance Fury or Crystal Ilbi Throwing-Stars, which is very expensive, you can find this Eternal Bullet in FM with a cheap price of 1 or 2 mil each stack. Try to get 16-20 sets, you will not be out of bullet through bossing in 4 hours continuously. Capsule: These capsules are to increase a small damage deal with elemental attack, whose skill are Flamethrower and Ice Splitter. Don’t bother to find because it hardly drops from monster. I myself has farmed for 1 hour at a specific map and only 1 or 2 of these dropped. Blaze Capsule: Drops from: Cellion, Mushmom, Red Drake, Red Kentaurus. Glaze Capsule: Drops from: Grupin, Ice Drake, Zombie Mushmom, Blue Kentaurus. 4) Overall Level 10: Brown Rocky Suit Starting at level 10, this oa is given to you as the reward of job advance. Just use it meh. Level 20: Bathrobe Found in Showa Town's bathhouse general store seller Momoyo. Find one with scroll all 10 slots with dex, these oa would be a good boost for your damage in early level in training. Level 80 – 100: White pioneer(level 80) or White Marquini(level 90) [End-game] White Pioneer is dropped by the commonly farmed mob Berserkie in Ulu Estate 1. The White Marquini can be dropped by Bone Fish, Red Wyvern, and Memory Monk. For end-game overall, you should find an overall that has STR stat add up to your base STR, so you when you buff MW, you have enough STR to wear your end-game gun. I won’t suggest in specific stat for overall because people have different STR base goal. This way, you will benefit MW the best. Any STR stat in pirate overall for Corsair that beyond 30 is a waste stat. 5) Cape Level 25: Old Raggedy Cape You can obtain this cape through the quest, Stranger's Identity by Jane Doe in Kerning City. This will be your first cape and you can scroll this for Dex to add a small boost to your damage. Level 50: Yellow Adventurer Cape This cape, unlike most capes, have 8 slots instead of 5. It is gached in Showa Town's Spa through the Bathhouse. A clean one can sell for a little bit, but you can scroll this cape for even more Dex or Str. The cape is more commonly bought to be scrolled for Int for HP washing. Level 50/65: Pink Adventure Cape / Pink Gaia Cape [End-game] These two capes will be your endgame capes hands down. The Pink Adventurer Cape can be gached in Perion, although almost no one gaches there. The Pink Gaia Cape is much more common and can be gached in Kerning City. It's more commonly gached because on average, it has one more attack than the Pink Adventurer Cape and Kerning City's gach also has the Dragon Purple Sleeve that if found godly, can go for billions. A starting PAC/PGC can be kept clean or even scrolled with Dex or Str (although this will devalue the cape unless it is amazingly scrolled). When you get the money, you will be using Chaos Scrolls to scroll the cape(s) for a better attack. 6) Glove Level 10: Work glove The most common glove for anyone is the Work Glove and it lives up to its name. It can be crafted in Kerning City by JM from tha Streetz. These are commonly scrolled with attack and are a great starting glove to have. Try to find one and scroll all slot with Glove for attack scroll 60%. In total, you will have a 10 attack glove for to begin your character, a great start on glove. Level 10/50: Brown Work Gloves or Stormcaster Gloves [endgame] The Brown Work Gloves can be gached at Henesys. They tote a total of 7 slots so it's easier for these gloves to generally be scrolled to higher attacks with the extra two slots. A good scrolled Brown Work Glove is rare because few gach at Henesys and even fewer get these gloves to higher attacks. The more common endgame glove is the Stormcaster Gloves crafted in New Leaf City through The Glimmer Man. The Stormcaster Gloves are amazing endgame gloves because they come with +5 attack clean which means they will generally have a much higher overall attack than Work Gloves. They do cost quite a lot to forge or buy though so be prepared to shell out some mesos for a decent one. For end-game glove, a 20+ attack glove should be fine. 7) Shoe Level 10: Red Christmas Sock [endgame] The Red Christmas Sock is one of the most sought out shoe. It comes with 1 attack and has 7 slots clean. Since it has 7 slots, there is massive potential in attack in these socks. While they are only obtainable during the Christmas Event, they are tradable and many players keep them to sell even after the event. These shoes or Facestompers will be your endgame attack shoe. Level 11: White Gomushin/ Black Gomushin Many of the low level pirate shoes at do not give any stats so instead we find these shoes at the Kerning City Self-Defense Item Store's armor seller which gives a small +2 speed bonus. Since you won't be keeping these for long, the only scrolls worthy of dropping on are some shoe speeds if you wish. Level 30: Purple Snowshoes Purple Snowshoes can be found at El Nath's Weapon Store's armor seller. The shoes don't come with any base stats but have 7 slots instead of your normal 5, that you can scroll with for either speed or jump (which gives Dex). Wearing these, you will not be slipping and sliding on ice in El Nath if you care for that. Level 40/50/60/80: Brown Leather Krag/ Brown Double Boots/ Black Bastile Boots/ Blue Pageant I clumped all these shoes together because these shoes all give both stats and are commonly found compared to other shoes. While they won't be useful when you get a pair of Facestompers, a godly pair of these are a great substitute for Facestompers if you are lacking funds. The first three pairs of shoes can be found by Lupin, Stone Golem, and Mixed Golem respectively. Forest of Golem 2 is a great map which has all of these mobs that you can happily kill to farm these shoes. The Blue Pageant gives the best duel stats pirate shoes and is commonly farmed at Goby. Unfortunately, all the other shoes are found my much less common mobs, or the level 90 and 100 shoes which do not give both stats. Level 50: Facestompers [endgame] Oh these pair of shoes live up to its name. Also crafted in New Leaf City through The Glimmer Man. These shoes are one out of two shoes that come with base attack. The other shoes (Red Christmas Sock) are only obtainable through the Christmas Event around Christmas time each year. Since these shoes come with +2 attack, they are always scrolled with chaos scrolls to improve the attack. These shoes will be your endgame shoes when you rack up enough money to afford them. Level 80: Violet Snowshoes The Violet Snowshoes are commonly gached at Showa Town's Spa but can also be found by killing The Boss. These shoes are fairly cheap and can be scrolled for speed or jump. They are a good pair of shoes to own if you want to have a speed and jump boost because they come with on average +5 speed and +5 jump and 7 slots. They are very useful for killing easier mobs that you can 1-hit. 8) Pendant Level 30: Bow-tie (Green)/ Spiegalmann's Necklace Although the Bow Tie (Green) is quite snazzy, it does not give any stats and minimal defense and is essentially useless. You can wear it just to fill up the pendant slot if you so wish. It is found in New Leaf City's Gachapon. The Spiegalmann's Necklace is a necklace that gives on average +1 of every stat. Since Carnival Party Quest is not currently working on this server, the only Spiegalmann's Necklaces that can be obtained are through other players in the market. They can cost a little bit and for the new player, an increase of +1 of every stat is not very beneficial. Level 50: Silver Deputy Star This will be your first real pendant and often will be the pendant that you will keep for a very long time. This pendant is obtained through an exchange "quest" called Lost in Translation given by Lita Lawless. The hardest part of the quest is killing Elder Wraiths and Bigfoots, so you are most likely buying this off of another player. It gives a good bonus of +5 of every stat and is possible to Chaos Scroll (although this is very rare and for the extremely rich). Keep in mind that this pendant is not affected by the godly system. Level 70: Horus's Eye Obtainable through New Leaf City's Gachapon, this pendant is a cheaper replacement for the Silver Deputy Star which can be pretty expensive for the new player. The average stats of the pendant are +3 of every stat, but if you get lucky and find a godly one, it can go up to +9 of every stat! The only downside of this pendant is that it's untradeable so you have to gach this in New Leaf City to get it. Level 110: Mark of Naricain [endgame] [Coming SoonTM] Level 120: Horntail Necklace [endgame] A legendary pendant that will be your ideal end-game necklace. You can find this through surviving a Horntail run, but most players who run Horntail are level 155+. This means that if you want this pendant before level 155, it's likely you will have to pay a heavy price for this. This pendant gives on average +7 of every stat and a godly one can go to +13 of every stat. The good thing about this is that there is a usable scroll called the Horntail Egg that will work 100% of the time and give +15 of every stat to the Horntail Necklace. This means that a Horntail Necklace scrolled with the Horntail Egg can give you potentially +28 of every stat! Keep in mind that you can only use the Horntail Egg one time, so your first Horntail Necklace you scroll with the Horntail Egg will be the final stats of it, regardless how good or how bad it is. You can choose to drop the scrolled Horntail Necklace, but you cannot use another Horntail Egg. You may wish to finish the scrolled Horntail Necklace with Chaos Scrolls. 9) Earring Level 15: Single Earring/ Amethyst Earrings These earrings have no stats in them but are the lowest level possible to wear earrings. You can buy them in the Henesys armor store's seller Sam. and you will scroll them with Dex because they are the only viable earrings scrolls that will benefit a Buccaneer. It's very likely that these will be the only earrings you will wear because higher level earrings only give defense and magic defense bonuses at the expense of a higher level requirement - which is not worth. Level 50: Anniversary Earrings [endgame] Only obtainable through the Mapleroyals anniversary event, they come with +2 of each stats and 5 slots. Although the event is once a year, these are the best earrings to chaos scroll since they are the only earrings that can give you strength. You can get an unlimited amount of these while the event is going on, so stock up on them if you can't afford the chaos for it! Level 80: Gold Emerald Earrings [endgame] Dropped by The Boss, these earrings are one of the hardest items to find on this server. The Boss is one of the hardest bosses to kill due to its high level and extremely high avoidability. If you do stumble on of these, they have an average of +2 Dex and +5 Int clean. Since it has a very high base Int, they are also sought for endgame earrings for mages which makes it even harder to get one. 10) Eye Accessory Level 35/45: Raccoon Mask/ White Raccoon Mask [endgame] The (Brown) Raccoon Mask and the White Raccoon Mask are the only two masks in this game. They can be gached in Sleepywood and CB: Singapore, respectively. The Raccoon Mask comes with an average of +1 accuracy and the White Raccoon Mask comes with an average of +2 accuracy. The only way to get Dex out of these is by using 10% or 30% Eye Accuracy (which gives only one Dex per scroll). These masks are quite pricy clean so your average player does not need to worry about this. Level 45: Broken Glasses [endgame] Obtainable by doing Ludi PQ 35 times, the Broken Glasses along will be an endgame eye accessory simply because if it's potential to have more Dex and Str. Ideally these will be chaosed since there is no other way to get more Str on any eye accessory slot. If you are just simply Ludi PQing for levels, these should come naturally and isn't too much of a problem to get. Since it only has 3 slots, it's not really worth trying to 10%/30% them for eye accuracy when there is so much potential if chaosed. Level 70: Spectrum Goggles [Coming SoonTM] Level 140: Ninja Toad Headband This is a high level eye accessory that is dropped by the Castellan Toad boss, which is level 180. Only found late-game and is untradeable, this nifty piece can give you an average of 1-3 strength and luk with a godly potential of up to 8 str and 8 luk. It comes with 3 slots, and if you just happen to grab a high strength headband, you may be set for the rest of your maple career. This eye accessory is good but not for Corsair as it doesn’t give you any DEX stat and ye, it only has 3 slots to upgrade. 11) Face Accessory Level 0: Maple Leaf (Str/Dex) [endgame] Gached in Showa Town's Spa and Sleepywood, these face accessories will be your endgame face accessories. On average they give +5 of one the stats, but you want to keep only Str and Dex ones. These are untradeable too, so you will need to gach them by yourself. You can either scroll them with face avoidability scrolls to get some Dex on them, or Chaos Scroll them if you are extremely rich. If you don’t have enough STR to wear your gun, you can find one with STR. On the other hand, if you have enough STR to wear your gun, you should find a DEX one to enhance a bit in your damage range. Level 30: Rudolph's Shiny Nose [endgame] Only obtainable one time each year from Mapleroyals Christmas event, these are potentially one of the best face accessories you can get, even if it's clean. It gives +5 of each stat and has 3 slots. Since it comes with +5 str and +5 dex, this face accessory beats out most of the other accessories clean. If you are a risk taker, I would highly recommend you chaos scroll it. Level 25/40: Rat Mouth/ Smiling Mask/ Crying Mask/ Angry Mask/ Sad Mask/ Branch Nose All of the level 25 masks and the Branch Nose are not very useful for a Buccaneer. The Smiling Mask gives you some extra speed boost and the Crying Mask gives you extra jump if you want more mobility or height to reach certain platforms. The Sad Mask costs a little bit extra because it comes with accuracy if you need help hitting things. The Rat Mouth is gached in New Leaf City. The Smiling Mask is gached in Sleepywood. The Angry Mask is gached in Showa Town's Spa. The Sad Mask is gached in Sleepywood. The Branch Nose is gached in New Leaf City. Level 70: Sweet First Love [endgame] Although not as good as Rudolph's Shiny Nose, it still gives a very formidable +3 of each stats and has 3 slots. Unlike the one-time Shiny Nose, you can get multiple of these from the Valentine's Event each year. It can also be a potential endgame item with a few lucky chaos scrolls landed on it. 12) Ring Note: You can equip up to 4 rings on your character. Level 0: Zombie Army Ring [endgame] This ring is only found during the Halloween Event. It gives 1 of each stat but also has a nice 100 HP / 100 MP bonus to it. It doesn't have any slots. Level 10: 2 Carat Lovebirds Wedding Ring [endgame] One of the best event rings that you can get, out of the current 3 rings, you want to try to get this one since it gives 3 of each stats and 1 attack and 1 magic attack. It doesn't have any slots, but for a ring, it is very good. You can find this one during the Valentines Event. Level 30: Pumpkin Pie Ring [endgame] Similar to the Zombie Army Ring, this ring also gives 1 of each stat but only 10 HP / 10 MP bonus. It is found during the Thanksgiving Event. Level 30: Almighty Ring [endgame] Even though this ring has a low level requirement, the lowest level you can obtain this is 70 because of a chain of quests you need to complete. Many mobs are much harder, so unless you have other players to help you out, you won't get this ring until level 135 when you can start bossing on Krexel. If you get lucky, you can find a ring that is godly and gives you +8 of each stat. There are no ring scrolls, so the only way to improve the stats is by Chaos Scrolling the ring, which has 2 slots. 11. Comparison Corsair to Bowmaster and Night Lord For this section, I will compare a Corsair to a Bowmaster and a Corsair to a Night Lord. I will discuss in detail, what things that a Corsair is upper compare to a Bowmaster, what things that a Corsair is behind a Bowmaster or a NL. 1) A Corsair Vs a Bowmaster A Bowmaster is formed as a supportive DPS class, which means they are not only do some decent damage but also can be extremely useful at some particular situations. Unlike NL or Corsair, BM has the juiciest buff that all the attackers want in a bossing party called SE (Sharp Eyes). However, their damage is as an acceptable level and can be considered as a decent damage contribute when it comes to whittling down boss’s HP. With equal funding, a BM does less damage than a Corsair and a NL, moreover, they literally do not benefit any buff from any other jobs. The most common skill that a Corsair and a BM are similar is Rapid Fire and Hurricane. Which shoot constant shot to a single target in endless time. I will go in detail about these 2 skills. AspectsRapid FireHurricane The similarities Both skills have the same fire rate (500 shots in a minute). Both skills are not affected by booster/SI to increase more shots in a minute. The differences RangeShorterLonger Damage200% damage on max level. 100% damage on max level. DPS200*500/60 = 1666,667%(100*0.55*(2 + 1.4) + 100*0.45)*500/60 = 1933,333% Average damage no SE buff Bullseye gives 20% more damage! Average damage = 2.2X X*0.6 + X*0.4*2 = 1.4X Average damage with SE buffX*0.15*(2.2 + 1.4) + X*0.85*2.2 = 2.41X X*0.45 + X*0.55*(2 + 1.4) = 2.32X X = Average damage = (Max + min)/2 In conclusion, surprisingly, Rapid Fire does stronger damage itself while Hurricane replies on SE buff. Clearly, Corsair outdamages Bowmaster with Rapid Fire when 2 classes are in same range! This is not realistic because BMs mostly have higher range than Corsairs! 2) A Corsair Vs a Night Lord From the very first scenario, Corsair and NL are always rival in almost every aspect because of a lot of things they are in common. AspectsNight LordCorsair The similarities Both are ranged damage DPS class. Both have high multiplier attack. Both have low HP if no HP washing. The differences Survivability and FlexibilityHigher since NL has high avoid and has Shadow Shifter. They also have Flash jump constantly and Dark Side. Lower since low avoid and ship only have 80% speed. We have Dash, Recoil Shot and Wing which is good enough. Mobbing ability AvengerTorpedo, Flamethrower and Air Strike. Useful skillset 50% more time on pot. Shadow partner imitates a critical shot with critical shot.Bullseye can focus all attack on 1 target till it dies. SI buffNo affect since they maxed attack speed already. A small boost to Corsair. SE buffVery relies on SE. Without SE, NL does nut damage. Not really replies on SE. Corsair does strong raw and stable damage. Now for some detailed number, lucky for us, Sila has already made a very detailed data on comparison a Corsair to a Night Lord. Check out her comparison section in her guide. Side note: Corsair cannot do anything while being KNOCK-BACK, all the skills Cannon, Octopi, Torpedo, Rapid Fire are able to be used if only you are standing on the ground or in the water! For this reason, these calculations in Sila’s NL guide could be partially different from actual DPS! In conclusion: CORSAIR DESTROYS NIGHT LORD IN TERM OF DPS Spoiler: Comparison range classes in a nutshell 12. Useful Knowledge 1) Damage Formula Range Calculation Max = [(DEX * 3.6 + str) / 100] * Weapon Attack Min = (DEX * 0.9 * 3.6 * Skill Mastery + str) / 100 * Weapon Attack Ship HP = [(Skill Level * 4000)] + [(Character Level - 120) * 2000] Attack speed Double Fire = 144 shots/minute Invisible Shot = 87 shots/minute Triple Fire = 87 shots/minute Rapid Fire = 500 shots/minute (approx. 8 bullets/second) Battleship Cannon = 95 shots/minute (With SI: 100 shots/minute) Battleship Torpedo = 77 shots/minute Single-target Burst Fire 20 = (210% * 3) * (87/60) = 913.043%/sec Rapid 1 = 132% * (500/60) = 1100%/sec Rapid 30 = 200% * (500/60) = 1666.667%/sec Octopi damage: MAX = (DEX * 2.5 + STR) * Attack Rate / 100 MIN = (DEX * 2.5 * 0.7 + STR) * Attack Rate / 100 Ignore defense. That's why you don't see Octopi has higher damage when you gelt/apple/heartstopper. You only need 1 point in Rapid Fire to out-damage max Burse Fire 2) Moving skill set Recoil Shot -> Wings Macro / Wings -> Recoil Shot Macro There is a specific way for Corsairs to get around that some people do not know about. Create a macro with Wings first and then Recoil Shot second. Put this somewhere on your keyboard. Now, when you move around, you can Dash and run in the direction you want to move, turn around in mid-air, press Recoil Shot, then press the macro button over and over again. You could also simply put Recoil Shot first then Wings and press that. (Thanks to Teddie for noting that) You’ll notice it heavily in flat areas and it’ll greatly improve your mobility speed. Ice Splitter -> Flamethrower Macro Ice Splitter and Flamethrower are complementary skills. Due to their nature, putting a macro for the skills seems like common sense. This will be your main training technique if you don’t plan on Newtie sniping. Making the macro is easy as pie, just put Ice Splitter first then Flamethrower! Done deal. 3) HP washing numbers From Plenty’s HP Washing Reference Table by Plenty: HP GainedMP LostMinimum MPMinimum HP AP from level-up16 - 20-16(18 x Level) + 111(22 x Level) + 380 AP from AP Reset20 This content will be updated when server release a new systems of washing HP, like change the amount of HP gain, MP lost … 4) Attack speed of a weapon If you already know how attack speeds work then just read the below two statements. This is due to all guns having a speed of fast (5), which does not reach the speed cap with booster alone. Night Lords, on the other hand, use claws, which are generally fast (4), meaning they reach the speed cap with just booster. This means that they receive no benefit whatsoever from speed infusion. A quick summary of Attack speed on a weapon: Being closer to the right means you attack more often. On average one attack speed level difference is ~12% total DPS. Booster increases your speed by 2 levels so if you're at fast (5), you go to faster (3) Speed Infusion (SI) at level 11-20 increases your speed by 2 levels so if you're at fast (4), you go to fastest (2). Guns are generally fast (5) while Claws are generally fast (4) meaning that Claws reach the fastest attack speed with just Booster while Guns do not. This allows Corsairs to benefit from Speed Infusion while Night Lords do not receive a benefit. If you wise to learn more about Attack Speed, there is a guide of Effectiveness of Speed Infusion by Buccaneer. 5) Skill available on ship Battleship Cannon Wrath of Octopi Gaviota Flamethrower Ice Splitter Torpedo Gun Booster Maple Warrior 13. Hi, just wondering, is bullseye dmg multiplier applicable to rapid fire? That should change things with the rapid fire Vs hurricane comparison. Also, the NL Vs sair table has the wrong headings. Thanks for the guide
Oh yess you are right. Technically, Bullseyes applies to all skills I will fix that. Thanks for pointing out the heading issue, I'll fix it!
Updated Absolute position to kill Bigfoot as Corsair - Position where you would never miss a bullet when killing a Bigfoot!
This is helpful! Wanna ask a question, do u know wheather would speed infusion cause a miss attack at Big Foot like it did to dark knights?
Thanks for the kind comment XD Well, since DK is a melee, it's harder to fix the position because there is not much space to fix. On the other hand, Corsair is a range class, and as I said above "Killing Bigfoot for Corsair is all about the distance between you and Bigfoot." Even Corsair has SI, we do have a chance to not miss a bullet to Bigfoot. 1 of the problem is that, it's harder to determine the position. Without SI, its easier to find the position to not miss an attack!
Solid guide all around! Are the image tags supposed to be images for some of the bosses, like bf, kachu, anego? Noticed that they're attached images at the bottom of the post.
hmm, Ice Splitter works just fine, yet, some of monsters ain't really be freezed when I use it Flamethrower damage is fine but the DOT(damage over time) is broken The macro of Ice splitter and Flamethrower is broken too
I copied them from bbb.hiddenstreet and don't know why it has images attached at the bottom of the post. I will try to fix it later!
From bbb.hiddenstreet caused this issue (me too), try to find from somewhere else or just copy from your docx file.
To make it clearer, for those whose level is below 180, they might be unable to hold their Battleship more than 5 minutes. (If they can, I'm surely to tell you: Battleship and DPS, they choose the former.) However, Rapid Fire has been buffed a lot and the damage from Octopi is really amazing if you have tried it. DPS depends on how you play more than how high your level is now (with the same gears).
I want to calculate exactly DPS of Octopi but they doesn't write how much damage it deals in description! I have noticed, Octopi shoot a hit of 2x of your range in most cases(this need test!). Also I don't undertand, what Basic attack is, how does it converts to % damage? This is Level 20 of Wrath of Octopi from bbb
The damage formula of Octopus is the same like phoenix/frostprey, as you can see it's not dependent on atk but just dex and str (attack rate is the attack the skill says, 500 at lvl 20) MAX = (DEX * 2.5 + STR) * Attack Rate / 100 MIN = (DEX * 2.5 * 0.7 + STR) * Attack Rate / 100 You can see it here https://ayumilovemaple.wordpress.com/2009/09/06/maplestory-formula-compilation/
