First of all - I'm not "hating" on anyone unlike the paid trolls/ special snowflakes from the other servers we saw here before. I love this server. It is the only server I played after quitting GMS in like 2008 and I find the whole thing even better. It is the best server in all times and this will never change unless some serious competition will come in the future and it ain't seems like it. I know how to recognize things with potential to be a success or failure since it is my job IRL, things are no much different here. When something good, it's good. But even good things are not perfect.

I'm here to give an adequate feedback, honest opinion and the harsh truth many of you don't want to hear. As a millennial myself, I find that my generation got a huge problem with free speech and I got a lot of "smartass" comments in the shoutbox. But hey - somebody gotta do that, right?

Well, what am I saying is simple - the whole rollback thing and the "compensation" is unreasonable.
Let's leave the exp/levels thing out of the question since grinding and leveling takes no skills whatsoever. It's all about the ~mesos~mesos~mesos
Besides, I have lost some 13+ levels on my noob cleric and I don't care. I do care for the candles and some other things I have got in the middle of the way though.

What do I mean by that? Very simple.
How many of us have lost...More than a couple of mils in this rollback? I bet 10b that at the very least, 95% of us.

Now, I am not talking about extreme cases like 14/3 sock and that perfect ST. I'm talking average here. Most of us have lost more than 10-2m. That's a fact.

Let's face it - 2x mesos is pennies. That's another fact. It is not going to compensate for anything. So instead of getting 1m pure mesos with my pet, I'm going to get 2m! WOW TY I'M RICH NOW!!!111

From what it seems, it's just time consuming for all of us.
The admins and the developer instead of fixing the dc issues, the stores (so people like me don't have to deal with lowballers who are offering 300m on 26 int bathrobe or 100m on a CS), ban hackers/scammers are now working hard and wasting their time for nothing. Literally nothing. It is not going to compensate anything or help anyone. When time is poorly invested, the outcome is always horrible.

So what would I suggest? / TL ; DR:

    1) Nothing.

There are more important things to work on than give us extra 10m or something around that like I've said before. The new source is far from being complete. Move on and forget it. Many would not like it, but I see the time it's taking to implement these exp/meso coupons and I think that's a poor decision with 80% effort and 20% outcome. We are all better off with Kevin and the admins doing more important things, if the new source was complete I would not mind that at all and would not even bother with this thread. Mistakes happen and I'm not raging on you guys. Far from it.

2)(My gambler instincts are talking) - *insert number here* of gach tickets on each IP and bring the gacha limit back for a while.

If you are working on something already, something like this will be a much better idea. More reasonable, easier than reinventing the whole thing with coupons and much more compensating than some pennies and boring grinding which will lead to KSing anyway. Maybe I'm suggesting this because I had a nice gach run and gached myself a good washing maple leaf, or because I play this game mostly for scrolling items and the whole market stuff... Just maybe...

Oh and to the "muh economy" folks - nothing will happen. We had 700k-1.5m nx when the Cash Shop was back and nothing serious happened. The prices were moving sharply down and then went up, but hey, it was fun. Nothing will happen with smaller numbers as well. The economy is fine, the prices of cs and ws are a little bit inflated so maybe it is even a good thing to do. Adds more "action" to the price movement. It's more fun this way. Stagnant life is boring anyway and the gach limit will do the job like before.

Thanks for reading this whole thing, feel free to rage on me like you did in the shoutbox :O

In my opinion, the best way to deal with it is to move on and forget about it as if this never happened.
True, Some people are going to feel as if they were scr***d by the rollback, but trust me, time heals everything, and people will simply forget about it. Handing out gach points would make things weird. If you handle gachpon tickets to everyone on the server, nothing changes. Since everybody is *on paper* getting richer by the same amount averagely, therefore not affecting the market whatsoever- no point.

I can agree to disagree, sure we can be focused on more important things aka the goddamn shops because im sick of having to spend 2m every time I am looking for a specific item or waiting in the FM for the lucky chance that someone may have what Im looking for after spamming for an hour. People deserve the compensation or at least something or else you are literally letting 3 entire days go to waste as if you didn't even spend time playing the game. To a lot of people including me that's complete BS, the the people who leeched their mules 20+ lvls or the people who have to 5+ hours just to obtain 1+ lvl those days have a huge effect on many people. Sure not everyone should be compensated, because not everyone lost alot of stuff. There are probably a a dozen or so people who lost over 100m+ way less that lost 1b+ as for the majority of players on the server that played in those 3 days, they all lost 3 days of game play and therefore deserve to be compensated any other game and people would go crazy stop trying to downplay the situation because at heart even you are annoyed just like everyone else.

Personally I don't even care about what the compensation is, if they do it I think they should do something that works and makes sense, but at the end of the day what matters to me is the action of compensation rather than the result of it. It shows me that they actually care about having wasted my time instead of just saying sorry and moving along. While simply moving along may be the most efficient answer I believe showing the player base that the staff actually cares about our time is much more important in this case.

Also being a merchant myself I understand your viewpoint on what form the compensation should take, however I don't think you should be downplaying 3 days worth of exp/lvls. That's quite a lot of people's time that went to waste and I believe it is also a very important thing to include in the compensation

Gach isnt a compensation option because gacha comes from voting and NX only.
Those who lost their gacha tickets now have them back to spend again how they want. I know some people who got junk the first time, rolled back, and got a chaos scroll on the second time. Just the same as some people gached and got a perfect ST or that elusive chaos scroll and lost it.
Those who lost the NX they gained from voting had it reimbursed.

You're also mixing up who does what.
Developers, aka Kevin, works on the code.
    GMs handle hackers.
Admins oversee GMs and give direction to the staff as a whole.

We're already going through with the 2x coupons and they will be ready and implemented soon. Not everyone cares solely about the money they might've lost, some people care more about the exp. Tell that to someone who's 19x and lost almost a whole level that 2x exp is worthless. Or those people who just started out their first character and then have to re-start all over again. It doesn't cover everything, no, but it's at least something while we move forward and make sure it doesnt happen again.

Just wondering whether 2x drop together with the 2x exp is possible. This way we get compensated on our exp and even if it isnt super much, we also get compensated meos wise.

Don't forget the spoopy spider. Poor Kevin has to deal with that every time he logs in.

As a merchant/someone who is scrolling items for profit you are probably tired of lowballers just as I am. It takes forever to sell your stuff. I have literally hundreds if not thousands of scrolls (no, there are no def/bw garbage) and 10+ random int bathrobes from 11 to 25 and other really good stuff to get rid of and I really wanna start working on my first perfect weapon. I'm feeling like my character is stuck as a weak broke noob because I can't do anything.

I cannot even get a zhelm because the DC's are so rampant. I go afk in fm to cook something to eat, I finish cooking and find myself disconnected. Every time I'm afk I dc. How can I even start the jq this way, and let's not mention the DC's at zak...The GMs doing a great job with their warping in zak, but when there is a problem there is a problem.

My point is, there are more important things to invest time in.

I agree that morally it's a good move on their side. But it is not practical by any means. I prefer results over morals. Personal point of view, nothing more.
I mean, the server is barely functioning. It is much better than it was, but still there is work to do. Why add extra work? There are much much easier ways to compensate....

Gach or even a certain amount of NX is much more practical and easier compensation and I have explained why. 2x Meso makes no sense, it's pennies. Most people did not lose pennies. I would go even further and say unless you did not play these days at all or you are a complete new player who just got registered, you have lost more than a couple of millions. Much, much more. I'm not talking about perfect ST or the legendary sock. I don't care about extremes from both sides since they are extremes. I'm talking about average loss - it is way way greater than some pennies from 2x meso.

Besides, it is much easier to implement than to spend all this time with the coupons and I noticed it takes your time.

It doesn't matter who does what. In the end of the day, all of you are wasting your time for something...How should I say "non practical"? "Irrelevant"? English is my third language so I don't really know how to describe it but...It's effect is small, and the effort on other hand, seems big (to me at least). What extra 10 or even 20m mesos will even do to most of us? We won't even feel it. It is the equivalent of handing out 2 dollars in 1929. It is better than nothing, but you will barely feel it. It won't make the whole "1929" situation go away and those who give out the dollars will just waste their time (and dollars, which is equivalent to time anyway) for nothing. Morally, it's a good thing. Practically...? Not so much.

Well, I might be wrong about the exp but like I've said, I don't talk here about the exp. I'm talking about the meso/items loss only.

Completely agree with this, giving some sort of compensation for their mistake shows good gesture which is way more important than the compensation itself.

The problem is, it takes away their time. Which is why this thread was created in the first place. Time which should be invested in much better things for all of us. I mean, we can't even get a zhelm unless you are lucky not to dc in the jq/have a GM mule account...Oh and the stores! The FM stores will make the economy much more stable and it will be easier to sell/buy your stuff without dealing with lowballers and such.

The condition of the server+the time wasted on a meaningless compensation is the problem. There are more important things to do than to give us extra 10m from 2x meso.

It's anecdotal, but I've zakked 4 times since they "fixed" the DC issues and besides my roommate pulling the plug on the router, the only issues I've seen is people dying.

There's still DC issues, but have you tried zakking? It's a LOT more stable than it was.

Actually I didn't, but I have seen tons of smegas about DCing from the jq (which is the actual problem for me since I suck at JQs and it will take me 12 hours to complete it) and zk itself...TONS of them. Let's be honest here, I WILL DC within those hours doing the jq. I just will.

Maybe you just got lucky. Did you do the JQ after the recent update?

You might think its worthless or a waste of time to compensate. We, respectfully, disagree. Time spent telling and SHOWING our players that we are sorry for what happened and are going to do what we can to fairly make it up to them is time well spent, even if it takes two or three days "out" of time that could be spent looking at something else. Assisting players and keeping your user base happy after big issues are what keep servers alive. Rollbacks like that can easily kill a server if it's not handled well. I've seen another server go from a couple hundred people a day to ~30 people online, because their staff failed to communicate , failed to assist players with issues and basically said "Sucks to suck we can't do anything".

The D/cs are 80% or more better than they were. Most of the time, people who smega for d/cs are people who have internet issues or what we colloquially call "gfx issues". Basically hardware/computer related, not server. The other bit of people who smega are those who died in the boss, and because ress is broken, they ask for a rewarp for that.

Sila already clarified that there are specific groups of people working on certain things and organizing this compensation doesn't get in Karven's way. I don't know if you've played recently but the server's been very stable, I've literally dc'd only once while bossing since the update...

I do not think it's worthless waste of time to compensate overall, I think the choice of the 2x meso compensation is unreasonable and barely has any effect. It's "symbolic" only. Like I've said' it is morally good move. Practical? Not so much. I don't really care about "feelings", I care about the server and community as a whole. I don't want this server to go from a couple hundreds to 30~ people online like you've said.

And please don't start with "internet issues" or "gfx issues". It has nothing to do with me. I really don't want to sound like a douchebag but my internet is extremely stable because unlike most people, I just have to have one due to my occupation. I just have to or I will go broke. It almost never shuts down, it happened maybe 2 or 3 times to me this year. My connection is not very fast, but it's extremely reliable. Yet, I'm DCing every half an hour/15 minutes, depends on my luck. Sometimes when I'm lucky it's 1 hour but this is it. DCing from cake, DCing in FM ch 1...All the time, every 10 minutes. Zak will DC me after 10 seconds tops. When I'm just training or something I rarely DC, but again, I do this alone without any other people on the map. How can it be?

Now considering the fact I suck at JQs and I am not the only one, people like me will never get a zhelm unless it's fixed for real.

Just because you don't lose connection at home doesn't mean it doesn't struggle to keep up with the server. Just food for thought.

If you don't want this server to go down to 30 people a compensation of some sort is necessary. Whether a 2x meso is "useless" or not is not the point, it's the gesture from it that matters. Plus the main compensation is the 2x exp, the 2x meso is just an added extra, it's not supposed to make you earn all your lost mesos back.

Please explain...? What do you mean by "keep up with the server"? How can it keep up with other "servers" from other countries when I'm doing work for example (it's complicated, can't really explain what in details) and be a complete mess here? I mean this doesn't make any sense or I am just missing something here.

Put it this way, if 99% of the players aren't dcing every 10 minutes and you're the only person that is, which do you likely think is at fault, the server or something on your end?

It literally took no more than 5 minutes for Kevin to go "2x mesos? Okay, done" when setting up the coupons. The staff have discussed it entirely and 2x drop would not be fair considering the rates are already messed up and it isnt so easy to fix them. We have thought about other ways of making it fair to as many people as possible, so while you think the compensation is useless....Others will be glad we're doing something.
