I had a skele map that I was training at, my friend asked me if he could train in it for a while to level up since he was close to leveling up, I told him he's free to come and proceeded to chat with him till he leveled up. A hermit came after and kept attacking trying to get the map ownership after my friend left and succeeded with it. My question here is, Is it bannable to keep training in the map after something like this happens? Was this something put intentionally to stop players from gaining control over maps for a long period of time? Or was this something Unintentional? Would like to hear your thoughts on this subject even if you didn't know the answer to my questions, admins response would be appreciated to this matter too.
@Andreas but that didnt answer my question, Is it bannable if I attack in the map after he gains map ownership?
I thought it did, if he can attack in it he can't be banned for it. Only the mapowner can tell someone to leave. You could have had your friend stay for 3 minutes so you would get the ownership back.
I'm relatively new to the server, I thought it depends on timers as if I was there first, I'd get the map first and not who attacks faster in the moment map ownership is gone. Anyways took the note, thanks a lot.
Just for clarification, mapowner is based on activity in a map, specifically attacking in it (you don't have to attack monsters either, FM maps are own able). If a mapowner is inactive for three minutes then ownership of tht map is up for grabs. Inactivity could include being in the map but afk, going to the FM, repotting/NPCing, or even disconnecting. But as long as you're back and attacking before the three minutes are up you retain ownership.
