So I would like to make a suggestion to how to begin that good 'ol v83 server. Do it in stages. 1. Alpha Testing This is when the server is originally functioning. I have been told repeatedly that v83 is "clean and bug-free". That is bullshit, and you all should be aware. Sure, it may be better than other versions, but there will still be exploits and things to fix. So, I recommend allowing whoever wants to join the server to come on and do whatever they want, bug testing, to help find all of the issues within the server and make it great before stage 2. This would all be on the condition of a wipe. You may all say, "WAAAAT A WIPE WHY SHOULD WE HAVE A WIPE WORKIN S000 HRD ON THE ALPHA TESTIN' SRSLY." Well, this may be true, but like it or not there will be exploits that people will exploit, and we will be in the same situation we are now on the v62 with older players having more things. This would probably last 1 week to 1 month. 2. Beta This is after the wipe of the alpha testers. We would be able to start new, with a hopefully bug-free server or at least close to it. This would make it so the game would really begin. No more planned wipes. We would all be racing to 200. It would be the thrill we are all looking for. This could last anywhere from a month to forever if we so choose. 3. The Final Release This is when the game is fully released with different possible donation options, if you guys choose that route (does not mean bonuses in-game, but perhaps other rewards), a completely bug-free server with people bragging they are alpha/beta testers and all that jazz. It would be great. --- While this system is usually the plan, it ends up not happening. I do still recommend having a 1-2 week alpha testing phase that would reward all of those who helped or played in this time with a little bonus, perhaps a special NX item or a very minimal attack bonus. I understand that this may seem "too organized" for you guys, and that you "don't want another wipe." This is the ideal route, and I highly recommend doing it, as well as announcing your intentions beforehand to save chaos. Telling people there will be a wipe before you open up the alpha is better than waiting til we are moving towards beta. Thank you for considering this proposal. Have a good day.
I mean look at the basic concept; when you wipe a table it is kind of clean, but really you have to wipe it twice to get it actually clean.
