Have you registered an account at http://royals.ms/?page=register ? And are you entering your account name correctly?
Are you opening the correct game client? The directory is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\MapleRoyals\MapleRoyals.exe on Windows computers.
There's no reason why it shouldn't be working then. You must be typing the wrong username... If it was an incorrect password it would say 'incorrect password'. Can you log into the website control panel with the information?
I've reinstalled it again logged into the website with my id and password to make sure they are correct. Tried it, same error. Put in the Windows Client and tried again, same error. So I'm not to sure.
6 and no, all lower case. There's nothing on the account so I can give the I'd n pass to see if it's that or my end somewhere. If that helps at all.
It might be worth PM-ing your account username to the admins so that we can take a look and try to figure out what is wrong. Btw, voting won't give you any NX until you've been able to make a character - not sure if you noticed that or not.
