I'm a Ranger, and I'm wondering what I can do to get more Speed gear. I know the (max) Thrust skill will/would eventually add 30, but I'm not sure that if I'll be maxing it or not at this point in time. I definitely want Inferno (not recommended, I know) maxed, so I'm either taking away from Thrust or Strafe. I'll also be getting a Hog eventually, but would still like high (if not max) Speed when off the mount. With that info aside, I was going to try to end-game with a Dark Nisrock, which usually gives ~10 Speed iirc. What else can I do, or how/what can I also scroll for speed? Had planned on Facestompers eventually, so that removes shoes from the equation. What are your thoughts? The only thing you can scroll for speed without missing out on damage is a pet equip. Max thrust. Scroll your pet equip for jump. If you really want to max inferno then sacrifice 15 hawk and 14 mortal blow, or if you plan on leeching through 3rd job then leave strafe at 1, but there are incredibly few uses for inferno. Use speed pills to make up the extra 10 speed you're missing from a dark nisrock and grab a gold nisrock (gives jump) if you can - if not, a dark nisrock will do and you'll just have to have less than max jump. Event items will eventually make up the remainder of your missing movement if you keep playing. I have max speed/jump all the time, but I'm getting 5 speed 5 jump from rudolph nose, and 5 speed 5 jump from valentines ring which aren't available anymore. Edit: that skill link is accurate except that inferno doesn't deal damage over time, as far as I can tell. I'm not 100% sure about the percentages of mortal blow and hawk but those aren't really a big deal.
You can scroll pet equips with speed. Try finding a Smiling Mask in the FM. Use a Bathrobe scrolled with Dex.
