Hello, I would like to resurrect this old thread that suggests Taiwan to be added into the server. Taiwan or Formosa has what some version called it is an exclusive map for Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand MapleStory. It made out of 3 distinct areas that incorporate some iconic landscape and culture that is based in Taiwan, such as Ximending street, Night Market and Taipei 101 building. It is an expansive area, that gives players ranging from level 20 to 100 a decent place to train. Ximending Level: 23 - 47 Night Market Level: 36 to 85 The original spawn location for the Snack Bar boss Taipei 101 Level: 65 to 100 Many of us who played in GMS, EMS or MSEA are probably more familiar with the cut version of it, Kerning City Square Mall. Like Neo City, Kerning Square is a shortened and nerfed version of the area, containing an edited version of Taipei 101 tower map and a mixture of monsters found in the Night Market and Taipei 101 area. Recently, according to one of the staff members, it was revealed that Kerning Square is already inside the game file and this version might be considered to be implemented as-it-is in the near future. However, I sincerely hope the staffs can reconsider this as the area has several potential downsides, I hope to show them that the original version is a much more superior choice to be added to the server. Limited level range In the GMS cut (0.83), the area greatly reduces the 3 distinct maps of Taiwan to just 1. The area is also designed for a smaller range of players whose levels fall between 35 to 50. So much so that players above is passed that level limit is unable to access the map. This greatly reduces the number of players who can enjoy and explore the map. Other alternative training options Even if is the level restriction is removed and allowing players above the limit to access the map. In the GMS version, the monsters level range is between 35 to 49. However, in this level range players are already spoiled for choice, especially when there are other viable and popular training options. Just by implementing the current version of as-it-is, is very likely that this area won't see a lot of traffic. Spoiler: Alternatives Grinding Areas Pink/Brown Teddy - Ludibrium: Terrace Hall Jr.Wraith - Kerning City Subway Chronos - Ludibrium: Path of Time Nightmare - Haunted Mansion Platoon Chronos - Ludibrium: Lost Time <1> Wraith - Kerning City Subway Trucker - Singapore: Suburban Area 2 Party Quests Monster Carnival 1 & 2 (Level 30 to 50) Very Active Ludibrium Party Quest (Level 35 + ) Seldom Active Conclusion While I understand adding Taiwan into the server might present more work for the staffs to due it's larger scale, I strongly believe the effort is worth it and adding Taiwan is much more beneficial choice for the server. As Taiwan do not face the same level weakness of Kerning City Square, the wider level range of monsters and maps presents the best option to allow most players to experience it and use it longer. Unlike Kerning Square which limits to level 35 to 50 and restrict the area to just 1. Lastly, while I know there will be players who will disagree with me because of nostalgic reasons, I still believe adding Taiwan is more in line what has MapleRoyals has become, an interconnected community with an international and wide player base.
I do not think such a party quest existed in the base version. The monster looks it came from the Alien Visitor update but the IGN and delicate server notice tells me this a screenshot from another private server. So it might hard to add custom contents from other private servers into this.
Additional option for lv.71-100 players is definitely a great idea, since there aren't many choices to lv up efficiently besides PPQing or buying leech at this level interval. And also, a nostalgic place is back, this is something we are happy with.
It will be kinda useless at it is now, kinda like how nobody visits Shanghai or Floating Market except for getting monster cards/quests. I think you should just raise their lvl by 50, you can make Ximending an early 3rd job area, Night Market will be a late 3rd/ early 4th job area to compete with ulu, and Taipei will be an endgame area with the boss being similar to shaolin or scarlion
Also maybe boost the exp reward from the quests in Taiwan besides raising the level to let players not only grinding/leeching there.
I had no idea that Kerning Square was a nerfed version of Taipei 101, what a shame. I think these are all great ideas. Now that MCPQ 2 has been nerfed, alternatives for the level 50-70 level range would be cool, so I support the implementation of Taiwan.
