Hi, recently I have noticed that someone has been actively slaying down all the manons across all channels. I am not sure if it is someone done it on purpose, hunting for energizer/skillbooks or hacker automatically farming manons. (because vac mobs are everywhere in leafre nowadays). The problem is that the low availability of manon has caused difficulties in crafting dragon elixir at any given time. I know it is player's responsibility to check and get ready their elixir before joining a run, but not all people have so much time to play and competeing for manons. Some people that I have partyed with are just having few hours or even less play time a day after work. It is impossible to ask them online and take manon for dragon elixir quest. And this has caused problems for them to join at night. Possible solutions: remove Skillbooks/NX/Energizer from manon and replaced these drops to other area bosses. Shortern the respawn time to 1hr and reduced drop rate of certain items Eliminate manon from dragon elixir's quest Additional option to obtain dragon elixir (e.g. Chief Tatamo in leafre offers 1 dragon elixir for 50 million meso, and this quest has a 1day CD)
purrhaps manons cry could also be obtained from a dojo run too? this would be an interesting way to deter mules. or make it leviathans cry, either manon or levi cries could be turned in. levi isn't needed to advance to 4th. or remove the nx drops from manon and griffey (possibly levi) so there is no reason to hunt them except for quests/adv/cries and folks who need them have an easier time to quest, boss, etc
all drops from manon remove change is nice but i don't think they do it for drops i've seen that there is few toxic players that intentionally wipe all manon i guess to stop other from going HT /"control" book prices Shortern the respawn time will help for sure along side removed drops from manon thanks to all kind people that smega and wait for kill !
Maybe make an additional custom manon quest map for quest purpose only. Players can talk to NPC chief to enter the map, and it only drop quest etc or skill book. It could be similar as El nath PQ.

I remember years ago when a friend couldn't run cause of manon, probably any troll killed all for gizer farm, I agree with all possible solutions, I would add a option like Chief Tatamo warp you or your party for a hidden street and you kill manon :v
People can also farm Manon for another legitimate reason: Boss Card Farming. I killed all the Griffey when I worked on my Legendary Medal but spared Manon because I know people need Manon for HT runs. This was before Ellin Forest and LHC which required you to have a good number of boss cards to hit 400 cards - At one point, I had all the Blue Mushmom times down (23 hour spawn iirc).
I've killed 5 Griffey and it dropped card on each one. I'm on 50+ manon and i've gotten 2 cards...and one of them is when a friend called me to loot it after he killed one for HT.
I appreciate that there are people like you; who take into consideration the fact that others need Manon to do HT when they're hunting for cards, but truth be told, not all card hunters give as much thought as you. Which brings me to my point : Shortly and simply remove Manon card so we don't experience more situations like the following.. This was after I checked around 15 channels and found no Manon, I'm not targeting anyone specifically but simply trying to make a point of why some people are facing trouble finding Manons.
This is not the decision on the matter, but I want to give my personal opinion. I don't think players should be able to obtain the items to enter a HT run whenever they desire, and that some limitation for entry which isn't guaranteed can help to keep the economy surrounding HT drops healthy - or at least better than they would be if there was a guaranteed way to enter HT whenever you wanted. If players want to do HT, they should be prepared in advance with their HT elixir, and they should not depend on being able to find a Manon within the couple of hours before their run. Some players need Manon for HT, some players need Manon for monster cards, some players even want Manon for the 4th job quest item instead of purchasing the Secret Scroll. These are all valid reasons for hunting Manon, and I don't feel any of that should be changed. The idea of removing Manon's Monster Card seems silly and would ruin the whole streamlined experience of essentially all monsters in the game being able to drop their own monster cards.
I heard in old source you can obtain 5 elixirs per quest. Would you consider increasing the amount of Dragon Elixir to solve this matter. Perhaps double the steel and mithril plates while fixing the daggers. As the person who consumes 6 Dragon Elixirs daily. To me this is really annoying. Spending 30 minutes to get quest ready. Horntail is probably the ONLY boss that requires players to farm the entry ticket. While Auf( not 100%sure since I haven’t done any but heard from friend),Krex, Shao requires the quest to be done only. As for Zak ,Toad ,Scarlion and BG. Entry required materials like EoF, Samuraii piece, Anego’s Comb and the bear thing are TRADEABLE. My other suggestion to this matter is to make DragonElixir Tradeable. I don’t see any issue that player pay for the DeagonElixir same as other entry required materials. Honestly, HT is no longer profitable nowadays. For exp LHC is much better. For mesos, end game players prefer farming auf cause it is guaranteed mesos per hour. It dries sometimes but anyway. Not related to the topic but furthermore. I hope you to change something to CWKPQ. It was really good farming bosses but today it is dead for some reasons. Give it some more love and let players easier to make mesos in different ways. thx for your time.
maybe not all drops but removeing the nx and gizer will reduce greatly or discourage the time hunters to daily slay them at prime hours just for the sake of disturbing other from runing or make silly nx goals also is not eazy to prepare when most of players haveing set free time of the day for play and finding a team with more players then mules at HT is allready a challange enough
Going by the 3 page (so far) discussion about the issue on the community blacklist, it is clear that the community does not agree on whether or not it is OK to kill Manon for non HT reasons, e.g. for NX, gizers, skillbooks, or just for fun. I personally have never gone to HT as I lack a high enough level character with enough HP, and I doubt I'll ever have one. But I enjoy killing Manon, as do many other people. It is just weird having a boss that is not allowed to be killed, because of the existence of another boss. It is also unfair on new players/ those who don't visit the forums to be at risk of having their reputation ruined via the blacklist over this. When I first started killing manons several years ago, I didn't even know that they dropped an item required for HT, let alone about the controversy! So perhaps the best solution to the problem would be to just change the HT requirement to not need that item at all. An alternate idea would be to make it so that an equivalent item can be obtained from an instance/expedition boss, e.g. pap or zakum or krex.

What if adding an alternative way using Secret Spell Scroll for Manon part of HT pre-quest similar to the 4th job quest? Players can give Chief Tatamo Secret Spell Scroll to exchange Manon's tail. Manon's tail can change it to untradable and one-of-kind item. Either kill a Manon or exchange Manon’s tail for this part of HT prequest.
I have another idea. Can the artists please install a sign in Manon's room (whatever it is called) that clearly lays out the terms and conditions for hunting a Manon(s), i.e. acceptable vs unacceptable reasons, and also how many Manons are allowed to be killed per person per time interval for each of the acceptable reasons? Or perhaps could we be able to purchase a Manon hunting permit from somewhere where we are interviewed about our reasons for hunting Manon? The permit would have a quota written on it, for how many Manon's that person is allowed to hunt.

Swap out manon death requirement for more annoying ETC to farm. Dann's idea is also great as a small mesos sink. Manon killers can get their 1m gizer and 200nx. HT runners aren't stuck in the mud when there are no manons to kill. Wins all round
Great idea too. Change "kill Manon" to ETC drops from Manon or Griffrey. If the ETCs are tradable, it helps area boss hunters to get more profit, and HT players can access the ETCs for this part of HT pre-quest easier if they are willing to pay extra Meso.
