Edited because this is now in Bug report and the original post was unclear Griffey does not drop Heroic star required for the 4th job advancement. To advance you must either buy the secret spell scroll, or get a GM to create the star.
Considering that there's people who need to kill Manon for htpq (whether for Genesis, Divine Charge or to be able to attempt HT), I think it would be better to not have people killing Manon unecessarily for 4th job advance. The items needed for HTPQ don't drop at 100% rate, so HTPQ-ers may need to kill several, if not all the Manons to get items they can't get elsewhere. (Note: 3 people needed for HTPQ) Not sure if Griffey is needed for anything else.
If the griffey manon option is bugged (which it seems like you're saying) and it is not planned on being fixed, I do think the quest dialogue should be changed so that people do not end up in this situation.
If its enough a problem that I should pay 10m so other people can kill them, the spawn timer should be decreased
It's up to admin to make a decision on this. I've just explained my own thoughts on why it might be better not to put the drops in Manon.
Can you explain to me why you can't pay 10 million mesos? I don't understand why you want us to change the way the game works just so you can avoid paying for an item?
Are you serious? I've already spent lots of time and effort because the stickied current bugs and glitches says nothing about it. Is that how you look at every fix? You're acting like I want you to change the fundamental workings of the game because I'm greedy. I'm asking you to FIX A BUG.
If it's a bug (which I didn't realize was part of GMS), why didn't you just post it in the Bug Report board instead? The way this was posted in Feedback, it led me to believe you wanted to change the mechanics/way the game worked and add an alternative option. Again, I wasn't fully aware that this was how it was done in GMS but the fact still remains there's no reason that you can't spare 10m to get what you need to job advance.
Alright yeah I understand how you might think that The bug is that Griffey does not drop one of the two required items, which is why I wanted to trade the one item I do have with a few Griffey horns. The bug has apparently been known for a few weeks without making it into the sticky, so I posted here seeing if a gm could help. The feedback I was giving is that if the bug isn't going to be fixed, I should be able to trade the items with a gm or something in return for the scroll. Theres no remaining fact lol, my reason is that I've already earned it. I don't feel I should have to pay for the scroll after already completing the requirements set in the official Maplestory. If it was working, I would have already acquired the items and would be able to advance without the scroll. There are 2 methods to obtain the items, I should have earned the one item but it's bugged. If it was not bugged I would have already completed the requirements. I just don't want to have to do the other method after I already completed the first
Update: Or at least the correct items are in the database as dropping...... Matt just killed 40 Griffeys and got no relevant drop. I'm also checking this out... Sorry 'bout this!
OK, 551 Griffeys later, not a single Heroic Star from Griffey. I probably have at least 6 of every other conceivable Griffey drop and nearly 500 horns, but... Matt and our dev went over the code with a fine toothcomb and all the correct drops were there, linked to the correct job advance quests. We can't find the bug. My advice to you would be to have a GM give you the Heroic Star.
I can't believe I forgot about this until now. I remember having a hero friend kill griffeys and he didnt get the drop even after 13 griffeys, at which point he gave up and used the scroll. It would seem that the griffey drop does not appear for ANY class. The secret scroll, however, works for all classes except pirates. This hero friend did this about 2 months ago. I had not realized this as most of the people I know choose to use the scroll in the first place. tl;dr: not a class specific bug
Have given the player his Heroic Star! =) Moving this thread to bug reports as the bug hasn't been fixed.
