Hey guys, I wonder where do you stand in terms of the current state of the game being a leeching type of game, do you approve/disapprove the fact that people make a Bishop first and then just leech their main character all the way up with 300-400 INT base? Perhaps, if EXP was reduce by some decent amount for the character that is not attacking the monsters, people would start training together, more interactive gameplay, like PQing, training together in a party instead of just making a bishop and leeching yourself and basically playing solo... Now I know this is not an obligation, and you can still play without having to make a bishop, but I think it kinda pushes people to do it knowingly they will get more HP or just easier work if they get leeched all the way to the top... I really believe if the game had some type of anti-leeching system, it could be more fun because we would kinda of bring players together and somewhat making them get to know each other and interact more, consequently making new friends and enjoying the game more... If you're like, yea I agree I don't like leeching, but that's the way for mages to make mesos and it's necessary... I'd say we could add something new to balance that out, perhaps Chaos Scrolls dropping from regular monsters at some rare rate? Idk Thanks
I would definitely like for a better hp washing method to be implemented and for leeching to slowly get worse exp vs grinding. It seems most people are behind the "you put in the work you deserve the reward" mentality. I just find it ridiculous that adding hundreds of points in Intel and leeching it to 150 is part of the process for an end game character. And even if you're not washing who really wants to grind solo from the lack of party players from level 75-130? I cant make a full wolf spider training party like i used to.
The current state of the game being a leeching type of game is not only not a bad thing for players, but even a good thing. You see, new players get funded by: 1. Voting for NX, usually selling AP Resets, maybe trying Gachapon 2. Merching, which requires heavy time investment and specialized knowledge 3. Grinding to farm for items, such at Heartstoppers from Voodoos 4. Selling leech, which is the most stable and readily available source of income 1. is extremely slow. 8000 NX per day equals 2.58 AP Resets per day, which equals 41.28m per day. This is why you see low funded players who get very upset about not receiving NX when to other people it's really not a big deal whether we get the NX for that missed day or not. 2. is difficult, competitive, and requires an individual to dedicate effort into learning the market, prices for items, and gauging how to make a profit. Most players do not do this, and you can easily tell by how many people use the two scroll price guides. They follow guides to the market and prices, rather than seeking the knowledge themselves. 3. is slow, impedes leveling, and makes the player sacrifice experience per hour for meso per hour. It's generally a better idea to grind the levels to level 135 as quickly as possible so you can join Zak and Krex runs for funding and experience and social networking in the bossing scene. Idling at low levels like level 80 grinding at Voodoos for 25m per hour isn't the best option. 4. takes time commitment, it burns people out, but there's a huge industry of leech selling and leech buying. A new player can easily make a bishop. Cleric grinding is supremely easy, priest leveling is even easier with all the free leech squawkers, and bishop leveling is inferior to arch mage leveling, but still, a level 120 bishop easily makes 80m per hour right from the start with low level leech, which is always, always in demand. After about 2b more in startup funding for the bishop, they can 1 hit ulu 2 and make 120m an hour, 60m an hour in leech income and 60m an hour in NPCing the equips that drop there, and the godly Red Cravens from the mob there is an additional several hundred million meso bonus. The main issue is HP washing, and the necessity for it if you want to be at the endgame level of bossing. Because even at level 200, thieves and archers cannot survive the buffed leg stomp damage from Horntail even with Hyper Body if they don't HP wash. It's just a fact. And the thing is, people don't play solo much. The game is quite communal, but the social activity only opens up at level 135 which is when you start party bossing. Hardly anyone does low level content because A. it's effectively impossible to deal meaningful damage with high base int for HP washing and B. it's so much more efficient to simply spend 2b in buying low level leech for new characters to pass all that content. Because once you have a fourth job mage and stead income stream from selling leech, the 2b to buy leech from someone else to leech your characters is an attractive proposition. I think once you get to level 135 and you start bossing, you'll see a big difference in how you view the game. It's bossing that the game is focused around for most people, and that's how most friendships are made and maintained. Bossing is a communal thing, particularly with Horntail, where you regularly kill bosses on the daily with your buddies, guildies, alliance mates, and friends of friends who in time become your friends. The game is enjoyable with friends, but it's bossing where you'll find them, not low level content. I understand how lonely it feels before getting in the bossing scene, but once you get into the Zak, Krex, and Horntail world, it won't be lonely at all.
This right here is exactly what I've been through (and everything she said before this quote). I'm a leech freak, both buying and selling because it's the most reliable source of income. There are players in the game who really hate to see income growing based on luck (scrolling) and constant following of the market (merching), one of them being me. However, after 1 buddy of mine persuade me to include bossing in my daily routine bossing instead of just leeching all day every day, I never looked at the game the same way ever again. I toned down the 'money grinding money hungry money making machine' part of me and moved towards socialising through bossing. After doing so, I've truly experienced the social aspect of the game while still maintaining, although not as fast as before, the grinding aspect. So, to end off... Unfortunately, I highly doubt any anti-leeching system will be implemented but do rest assure that as you progress, you'll experience the delight of this -bring players together and somewhat making them get to know each other and interact more, consequently making new friends and enjoying the game more...
I find leeching to be extremely boring, you are alone with nobody chatting and get bored really quick. I don't think you should nerf leech though, just buff things like PQs to be more viable at low levels.
