    Hi there,

    After a long time away from gaming, I have recently been going through game after game and spending a short time on everything, finding that nothing can bring me the same joy that old Maple Story did. After watching nostalgic videos on Youtube, I have a deep longing, a burning desire, for the old MS.

    Naturally, I did a few Google searches and came up with ClassicMS and this, MapleRoyals, as my two primary results. I wanted to play ClassicMS, but I fear that it is severely underpopulated. From what I understand, MapleRoyals has a higher population -- and I am not too put off by the 4x/4x/2x rates. However, after stumbling upon a Youtube clip of Big Foot hunting in Royal MS (which is what I loved to do pre-BB in GMS), I noticed that Big Foot seemed exceptionally weak; he was hitting extremely low damage and I saw some videos of him being killed be people as low as level 60-80. Can anybody explain this to me? Are the monsters, or at least some "boss" monsters like BF, nerfed? If so, how much? Are there any other changes unrelated to exp/meso/drop rates that I should be aware of? I hate to be so picky but this could be a big put-off for me.

    Thanks!

    Jazz (GMS Trizz11)

    EDIT
    The Big Foot thing has been resolved! The low levels who killed it were a Dit spamming meso explosion and an HP warrior who could take the hits and spent hours. The low damage was a mistake on my part. Thanks!

    Now, if anybody can hook me up with the omok community around here.... 10k GMS wins, get at me! :p

    No, they're not nerfed. Bigfoot is impossible to be killed by a bunch of 60-80s unless you're using Power Guard or something. None of the bosses are nerfed.

    Check out A Guide to Maple Royals, it covers pretty much all of the differences between this server and GMS. I'd say that the biggest differences (other than more active GMs and a smaller playerbase) are some convenient user commands and the godly item system.

    Another good place to look for servers is gtop100. It might help you find a server that's more to your liking if Royals isn't. That being said, Royals is definitely the most populated and fully-featured pre-BB server around :D

    Thanks y'all!

    @Experience
    Won't have the game for a couple weeks until I get my new laptop, but I'll be sure to add you when I do! It's been a while haha I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
