1. As I metioned in the thread https://royals.ms/forum/threads/a-thought.121048/, for most Chinese players,they are unable to buy a private vpn and can’t afford a private accelerator because the price of dedicated accelerator and ip are high.The reason why vpns are so expensive you can see in the linked thread.Therefore, they have no choices, they can only use public accelerators, they will be banned at any time just because someone using the same accelerator breaks rules. 2. From what I can observe,Chinese count for at least 1/3 of the total players number in this server. there are legitimate players of them, there are also donators of them, is it fair for them to be banned without breaking rules? is it fair for them to be meant to have the destiny of being banned one day in limine? is it fair for them to be destined to have the fate of losing all the time and donation someday at the beginning? 3. As ckj996 and resum said, IP can be easily changed by offenders, and MAC will also(specifically I won't say , so as not to be learned by people with ulterior motives),so just relying on IP and MAC is not enough,whether staffs should also consider other hardware ID or other conditions which can't be changed or not easily.
I understand there are major issues with internet censorship in China and that a VPN is required to access most websites. We do suggest that it is best for players to not use a VPN with a shared IP address as it can likely get your account unintentionally linked to other unrelated accounts, leading to possible issues like you have mentioned. However when a player claims to have gotten unintentionally banned due to apparently using a shared IP address, we will investigate, and if we believe there is enough information for us to confidently say that the players are not actually related, then we will unban the player. We look at a lot more than just the IP address when investigating, so in the cases where players do not get unbanned, then please understand that this means that there was a strong link between the players. I can't go into detail about the methods we use to ban offenders, however we do collect your IP address, MAC and HWID. These are used for internal purposes, including, but not limited to, verification of your rights to the account, insurance of the uniqueness of the account, and account security issues.
As a programmer and a gamer player,I totally understnad and respect you staffs' decisions and judgements,and also ashamed with those who are Chinese but breaking game rules,and also don't intend to prove who is or isn't innocent,and also don't request to cancel ip ban.What I wanna express it: 1.Rules are created by man and work for man.They shouldn't make law-abiding people feel worried,and are supposed to be used to punish those violating rules. 2.Chinese,who count a large number in this server,can only use public vpn,which leads to be misbanned easily. 3.According to this thread ( https://royals.ms/forum/threads/do-not-use-public-vpn-services-for-mapleroyals.73925/ ) ,if it isn't the first time to be misbanned for public vpn(even if you staffs know he/she is innocent after checking),they won't be unbanned,which is prettry unfair for most law-abiding Chinese. Rules should serve players and benefit players rather than causing the situation what I said.Therefore,I'm here to represent all law-abiding Chinese players in this server to request staffs to reconsider to change a little about this rule,to unban those players who are indeed innocent but getting banned permanently just because of using public vpn even if it isn't the first time.
If you get banned for use of public vpn you will be told to not continue using it. If you then decide to continue using public vpns then you are not abiding by the rules. Please tell me how that is abiding by the rules. Just because you don't have the know how to use a private vpn doesn't give you a free pass. Since some of the chinese players seem to know how to use vpns with private ips maybe they should write a guide on how to do it especially since they seem to have a concern that other people don't know how to set it up.
1.I have never been banned for using public vpn and I hardly use public vpn,which is that I am abiding the rules. 2.I know the skill,but I can't tell them(read the following words again,well,it's not good to comment before reading other's words) 3.I am not defending for myself, I just wanna help my royals friends,my fellow countryman who are bearing the risk of being banned at any time.
Help your fellow friends by spreading information about static IP VPN that works for your Chinese mates instead of trying to make the server to change its policy. Your country is denying the basic human right to access uncensored information and that is not a problem of this server.
