I've made 4 characters already and on all four, I have had to deal with early mess-ups/bad decisions because I didn't research before making the job. This time, I want to do it differently.

Pertaining to an assassin, I have a few questions:

I have heard low-dex is the best (simply because I wouldnt be able to stand wielding a skanda as an end game weapon) and regular dex is just really low dps. If so, what equips should I aim for and approximately how much funding would it be total?

For low dex, should I start dexless and put in dex starting at like level 80? What base dex should I aim for at end game/fourth job?

Do I need to hp wash? I hear all you need is 5.5k to withstand a zak/HT ranged attack. How much int/washes would I need for that and do I have to start at very low levels?

Thanks to all answers in advance!

Low-dex is best, yeah. Start dexless until you can start getting together dex gear (bottoms, zhelm, earrings, stuff like that). Aim for the level 80 top or bottoms as they're easier to come by (gs2 drops them a lot). Once you have an idea of how much dex you can get from equips, you can start to add into your base dex to wear a craven at lvl 90 or a sleeve at 110. Your end game weapon will be based on personal preference, or if you can get your hands on a good craven or a good sleeve.

HP washing helps a bit, but not needed by a huge amount. I didnt start until mid 90s and I've got 6.4k HP clean now at lvl 167, which is enough for anything I need- including HT. I can work out some numbers for you later.

That's an impossible question to answer.

Most of your equips will end up being self-scrolled. the amount it's going to cost depends on how strong you "need" to be. You can pay for your assassins equips entirely through playing your assassin though; you don't require and "funding." You'll always want to be upgrading your equips as you go anyway, so just "aim for" the best you can get.

Cap your dex at 140 - (dex you get from zhelm) - (dex you get from earrings (unless you use luk earring)) - (Dex you get from top) - (dex you get from bottoms) - (dex you get from shoe) - (dex you get from dep star) - (dex you get from shoe until you upgrade to atk shoe) - (dex you get from face accessory). Also consider the dex you will get from using MW.

Obviously, these items will be forever changing as you continue to rescroll and upgrade. The idea of "capping" dex isn't as applicable here as it was in GMS, because AP resets are so readily available.
The lower level your start having int at, the more washes you can do. The level you actually do the washes (use AP resets) does not matter.

You only need ~3k HP to survive a zak hit. You can do this by ~lv. 100 without any washes at all. You need 5.5k at 155 to HT, which you can do with ~40 washes on a NL. 40 washes @ 12 mp each is 480 mp. 480 spare MP would be 40 int from level 35 to 155. You also pick up some washes for "free" at each job advance, so in reality the amount of int you need (or the levels you need it for, whatever) is lower than that. 40 is just "safe."
