Could you explain what you mean by "This has happened before"? Do you mean on other characters? If so, which characters?

Unfortunately, yes. As a LUK beginner, I don't really have any other methods of leveling up and changing my range.
These staff members have already advised you to get a different weapon though. I understand that you want to enjoy an unique play style but please look for a different weapon to use as the magic mitten keeps giving you this problem, we didn't intend this weapon to be there for training purposes.
