Character Name: BuyQTUM Last thing you did: Friend thought it was a good prank to SMEGA random things Why do you think you got banned?: SMEGAs Ban message when attempting to log in: Id connection has been blocked What GM banned you (optional): Can this please not be a perma ban?? I was not the one who made those SMEGAs!! This is a bit harsh for first time violation; plus I never hacked or vote abused or any other thing.
GM Hampa, thank you for replying. Several days ago, my frats friends and I were drinking at my house and I let one of them use my computer to check his email. Unfortunately, he thought it would be funny to broadcast insulting messages to the entire server (he told me he was deliberately trying to get banned). I am very sorry about this, and will definitely not allow any other user to access my computer ever again. I apologize that this incident occurred. In no way did I intend to cause offense to GMs or other players. Before this incident, I never committed any offenses. If it matters, I think I deserve a temporary ban (technically I've already been banned over 3 days though). I think a perma-ban is a bit too harsh for something that is not a repeated offense, hacking, or vote abuse. Thank you.
GM Tim, Thanks for the reply. The person who did this is a member of a fraternity at my university who was at my house at the time. He has played Maple before but he does not have an active account on Royals as far as I know. Thank you.
how come he seemed to be quite knowledgeable about (ex) staff and other private servers if thats the case?
GM Tim, Thanks for replying. What do you mean by knowledgeable about staff? Do you mean sharing their personal information? Like I said, my friend was a Mapler in the past, so it's quite possible he might be aware of MapleRoyals. But I highly doubt he is personally acquainted with any person on the staff team (I live near San Francisco, meaning he does too, and I do not think any staff are near there). To reiterate: the person who made the SMEGAs on my account was not me, but I sincerely apologize to the staff and all the players of MapleRoyals for any offense they may have caused. I take full responsibility for the incident and have taken steps to secure my computers and device from unauthorized access. I am very sorry for this incident, and I think I do deserve a temporary ban. However, a permanent ban seems to be a bit harsh for a mishap that was neither hacking nor vote abuse nor a repeatable offense. Thank you.
Your account is your responsibility. Unfortunately for you, this friend's smegas made from a foreign account constitutes major account sharing abuse (scenario 6): Using power-levelling services; Two or more people taking turns in levelling up a character (ie: training); Logging onto someone else's character in order to leech your own; Removing items from or deleting someone else's character; Giving an account with a high-levelled character on it to someone else; Committing a bannable offence (other than just account sharing) on someone else's account; Wasting staff time by lying about the account sharing; Sharing your account details with multiple people. https://royals.ms/forum/link-forums/65/ You will not be unbanned.
GM Sof, Considering this is a first offense, wouldn't it be more reasonable to give a 30-day ban? Please, have mercy, why must we go straight to the guillotine?? Thank you.
The reasoning for the permanent ban was just stated. Account sharing and committing a bannable offense while doing so is a major infraction. The permanent ban will remain.
