IGN: Tainted Last thing you did: Logged on and saw that my character was stripped so I logged back off. Why do you think you got banned?: Probably the same reason my character was stripped, although I was told the person who did that was banned. Ban message when attempting to log in: Your account has been blocked for hacking or illegal use of third-party programs. This ID has been blocked. So(sic) you won't be able to use this account. What GM banned you: Unspecified. I hadn't logged in since creating this thread: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/reporting-ryan-for-a-form-of-account-sharing.10996 but when I tried to log in a month (or perhaps a little more) ago, a message popped up saying my account had been permanently banned for hacking or illegal use of third-party programs. Honestly, it's not a huge deal to me as I'm not really an active member of the community, but it kind of irks me that I never even logged on and I was banned for this. If you can't unban me, can you at least try to check and see when/from what IP I "hacked"? Thanks in advance.
Sorry, the link I put in my OP is broken and I can't for the life of me get it to work, but if you click on the url it takes you to and delete the bracket at the end it fixes it. Anyways, in that thread you can see that my account was compromised, and I'm fairly certain that's what lead to this.
Why did you not change your password immediately after you realised your account had been compromised?
Upon further review of your case, it has been determined that the character which was autobanned for hacking on your account was created from a different IP than your own personal IP address. However, this violates the following clause from the Terms and Conditions: You did transfer the right to access the game via your username or password to a third party, and thus your account must remain permanently banned. Sorry, David. If you still want to know the IP from which you were hacked from, PM Katsuruka.
I apologize Kat, I should've changed my password but after I filed the report I didn't check back for quite some time as I had several other pressing matters come up in my life. I should've changed my password when I found out what happened, that's my fault. But if you can say I didn't hack, and it's already been established that what occurred didn't really constitute account sharing, and I wasn't punished for it then... it doesn't really seem right to say that now you consider it account sharing. This was the response to the report I filed. Now, I apologize if I'm mistaken but my interpretation of John's response was that while it was obviously my fault that my items were taken and my character was stripped, I would not be punished for "account sharing" as I honestly did not intend to share my account.
