Last thing you did: I tried to resolve voting issues in the Character Issues section, but ended up getting banned for Misconduct.
Why do you think you got banned?: Misconduct.
Ban message when attempting to log in: Your account has been temporarily banned for misconduct. The ban expires on Tue, 8 Sep 2015
What GM banned you (optional): TimK temporarily banned Cred

This is the thread that resulted in my temporary ban:

This was my last response, and I'm not sure if TimK and Andreas got to see it since it was closed when I replied:

"TimK and Andreas please, I would like to explain myself so I will do so in the Ban Appeal section of the forums, but I will do so here as well.

As for logging onto my girlfriend's account, I neglected to mention that she was literally in the room with me - I don't know her password so she has to be there to type it in. I understand that the section of T&C says that "the act of logging into or using an account owned by another person, with or without permission" is a bannable offense, but I just can't see it as "Account sharing" if I'm literally in the room with her while playing the game... I was simply being honest in trying to resolve another problem; thought the information would help figure things out, not get me banned for 30 days. Please, I really don't want to get banned just for attempting to get help for a separate issue."

The account sharing rule is strict, you can't play on another persons account, not help them, not do jq's for them etc..

"This includes the act of logging into or using an account owned by another person, with or without permission. "
You used another persons account and you will have to remain banned for 30 days.

I don't think you read the rules so remember:
NOTE: Circumventing a ban in any way will cause the length of the original ban to be doubled. Evading a ban includes, but is not limited to creating a new account to play on.

Even so, people have gotten such short bans for things like profane language, which offends the entire server... Playing on someone's account in this case is literally hurting no one. I don't gain any advantage to logging onto an account with a lv 47 Bowman for a few minutes... Don't you think a 30-day ban is overdoing it? Aren't there any grey areas to your T&C? Furthermore, shouldn't there be grey areas when determining the final judgement on a ban? What's the point of having a ban appeal if I just receive a clarification/restatement of the T&C without being able to make my case? Rules are rules, but I'm human and make mistakes, just like you. Please reduce the ban time on both of our accounts.

You made your case, however, you clearly violated the rules so you are guilty as charged. There really is nothing to say.

That's literally the exact black and white judgment that I'm talking about; it's completely dismissive "There really is nothing to say"...

But you're the boss so I guess if you think that's what makes a good system/relationship between players and GM's then whatever.

    Have a good one.

Sorry you disagree, but rules are rules.

The rules was changed, account sharing resulted in an instant permanent ban not that long ago.

30 days is a lot better than permanent.

The point of a ban appeal is for people who are not guilty of breaking the rules to appeal against a wrongful ban. If you feel that the rules are unfair and need to be changed, the best place to post suggestions for change/improvement is the Feedback section.

I ended up reading two threads on the Account Sharing issues that were started about a year ago (thread 1 and thread 2).

You all discussed it at great length already, so I guess it's pointless now that you've already reduced the ban to 30 days on first offense. I had hoped that it would be possible to adjust my ban time given the severity of my offense, but I've read enough of "Rules are rules" and "You should have read the T&C" and "if we were flexible, then it would open a can of worms..." etc. I still think it's unfair, but it'd be too much work for you guys to do, given that you're unpaid.

I'm just salty because I ratted myself out (lmao, failed the "Don't get caught" rule) and that my original problem with Voting for NX was still not addressed. I guess it doesn't matter in the end, since school starts in two weeks anyway. :'(
