Character Name: Cheezeain Last thing you did: I was talking to a friend in FM then I went afk Why do you think you got banned?: I have no idea Ban message when attempting to log in: Autoban: deekzoutforH vac mobs What GM banned you (optional): ? Last night when I was in FM, talking to a friend after I gathered some stuff I needed to make Glitter Gloves I went afk for like 30 minutes or so. Now when I try to log in I got a message that says I'm permanently banned. Why did this happen? I did nothing wrong. I'm a donor. Please help
someone on your network decided to make a new character to start hacking on it, and got your IP and MAC addresses banned alongside your accounts.
Uhm, okay.. :S There are currently 2 people where I live that play RMS, and the other person is usually here during the weekends, but I don't know what he's up to. Can you see what certain pc did this or a specific character name? Because when I'm online I'm either afk somewhere or ppq/looking for things in FM. Is there anything I can do? I've been playing RMS for about 2 weeks now I think, so I wasn't familiar with the rules cause I couldn't find them... My friend also made a ban appeal post thing, but he got no answer yet. I just found the rules and I think I got punished for something he did. What can I do?
not being familiar with the rules is no excuse since you have to agree with them upon account creation. It does appear that you weren't involved in what your friend has been doing however your network will not be unbanned. So if you do have another place to play from I can detach your account and unban you but you wont be able to play from the same ip address again
Is blocking my IP from playing really necessary? I've been looking for this kind of private server for so long, and I'm really enjoying my time on RMS, I've made a bunch of friends that are nice, and the community is also nice. Isn't there any other way we can fix this? All I want to do is enjoy maple like I did when I was young, and now I found the answer. Can't you punish my friend or something like that? What if my friend never comes here again, why should I be unable to play?
We will not be able to unban the IP address that was used by the character that hacked, it would mean that the hacker could simply make a new account again and start playing. We have zero tolerance for hacking and you're responsible for the connection that you play from.
But since you know it was not me, why punish my IP? Since you know it wasn't me who used it, can't you ban the other part in some way (my friend) from playing instead of IP ban? All I want is to play the game, and I apologize for my friend who did this. Is there really nothing else you can do about it? What about a 7 day ban at least?
We are punishing the hacker's IP, not yours. You are just unluckily getting caught up in it because of your friend. We will not unban a hacker's IP so that you may play as you are responsible for the connection you play on. You need to find a different location to play this game now because your friend has permanently blocked that IP.
Now that I've been looking into it and I also talked to my friend, he said he used something that clicked for him through the first stage of lpq (because he's lazy) and this hit me: "23. Engage in robot play (i.e., "botting") or any other behavior that allows you (or any character you are controlling) to automatically function or effect any action in a game with or without your presence; Punishment: 1st offence - 7 day ban, 2nd offence - permanent ban" I'm not trying to be an asshole about this, but shouldn't it be a 7 day ban in this case? Since all we got was no warning, it was just a straight up permanent ban
And is it confirmed that he used it in MapleRoyals? As I mentioned earlier, I don't know what he's up to when he's playing. Whatever you found, was it used in MapleRoyals? Because if it never was used in MapleRoyals, why get punished for it? I'm getting really upset about this whole thing. And yeah, I got myself to blame for this, even though I didn't do anything wrong, but he got me in trouble... Even thought you found some sort of hacking mob program (which I didn't know of) I highly doubt he would use it on a private server, what's even the purpose of that? If I knew about this whole thing from the beginning I wouldn't let him play, because it would obviously get me in trouble, as you can see now... I'm against hacking, I never ever hacked myself, (in any game) and I would never risk my chances of playing..
If the player gets autobanned for mob vac usage it means he or she was using it on this server. The system would notice the player having really high monster movement values, which then triggers the autoban system. I'm afraid there is no error in the ban here, and that your friend got your current location permanently banned from the game. If you do however have a different location available to play from, your account can be detached from the hacker's and be unbanned.
Well... I guess this is a lost battle for me, such a shame.. I'll have to wait until I move out then.. Thanks for clarifying everything, hope to be back soon..
