Character Name: baesquad Last thing I did: Grinding @ MP3 Why do I think I got banned: Nothing I did in game precedents a perma-ban, so my best guess is that it's because my boyfriend and I both have separate accounts which we vote respectively on. I understand how it could appear as though I am exploiting the voting system, however that is not the case (we started this game a few weeks ago together, hence the character name). Ban message when attempting to log in: "You may not access your account because your account is permanently banned." I was very much enjoying the nostalgia this game provides me with and would love if an administrator could help me out. Thanks!
You were banned for 7 days for robotic play after failing to respond to a player whilst continuing to attack. Actions such as placing a object on a key to use a skill without you being present are prohibited by the Terms & Conditions which you can read here https://royals.ms/forum/link-forums/game-terms-conditions.65/
First of all, I'm not at any obligation to respond to anyone at any time in-game... I watch movies while I grind virtually every time, meaning I'm not always attentive at the keyboard. As a cleric, it's too easy to train spamming heal, hardly touching health potions. If I held down on the heal key for a few minutes without looking at the screen it's assumed I am cheating? Not a great first impression of administration efforts on MapleRoyals...
In the situation where a player is prompting another player, a response is not strictly mandatory, however a player report in which a player is being prompted numerous times without a response over a long period of time may be considered sufficient evidence for consequences under this rule at the discretion of staff. As such, we strongly suggest to all players to respond to any prompts in order to avoid being portrayed in a manner which may not be true.
That sounds reasonable to me. To clarify though, a huge part of my argument is that the evidence was insufficient, based on the fact that not even a few minutes went by before I was allegedly reported for exhibiting signs of robotic gameplay. I know this for a fact because I can recall my time on MR yesterday evening very clearly, and am confident that I never took my eyes off the screen for more than a maximum of I'd say 3 minutes at a time.
