Character Name: Nervine Last thing you did: Leveling at GS2 Why do you think you got banned?: I was grabbing exp at a GS 2 map. I was there for a good 2 hours (level 40 to 45ish) when 2 higher levelled people entered the map. They claimed the map was "theirs" and after telling me "ccpls" some sort or server message popped up that this person owned the map. I had no previous knowledge of this command to "own a map", and thus when they entered my map was "unowned" (I guess). After I told them I had been around for hours before they entered I just got a "enjoy your ban" reply. I figured I would not get banned for something this trivial, so I stayed until I had my level up. After logging out I could not log in again. Ban message when attempting to log in: "Banned for stealing monsters" What GM banned you (optional): No clue, no GM talked to me. As previously stated, I had no idea we were able to claim a map, when I entered the map was empty and remained that way for a good few hours. Had I known the command to claim the map as mine there would have been no issue. I hope my issue van be resolved, Greetings and enjoy your day.
You don't claim the map with the ~mapowner command, it only displays who the current owner is, if the owner of the map does not attack in the map for 3 minutes and someone else attacks in the map after those 3 minutes that person will automatically be map owner. The rules clearly say that Kill stealing is against the rules and as you saw, it clearly said that you were not the map owner and still continued. Not knowing the rules is not a valid excuse.
As stated above, you don't get mapownership by using the command, it just provides evidence that it's yours. You get mapownership by attacking on the map and you retain ownership for 3minutes. This refreshes every time you attack. You were afk for more than 3 minutes, which is why someone was able to take over the map. You will not be unbanned at this time as we never unban due to ignorance. Please take the time to read over the rules to avoid this in the future.
