I am aware of this thread's existence: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/blacklist-someone-to-block-smegas.117176/, but its been 3 years, maybe we can revisit it? Feedback: Rather than disabling all megaphones, i would appreciate if i am able to just disable certain people's smegas. E.g. wanting to still receive J/R content, B/S items, but not wanting to receive other messages (smega dramas, spammers, etc). Desc: I'm sure others may want the same feature for differing reasons in terms of what kinda of smegas they want to block, thus blacklist working on smegas would be more flexible. There was a mention of keyword filter in discord which is not what this feedback is about as it would potentially require new UI and may not necessarily fulfil the value add below. Value add: - freedom for players to control the content/messages they see in game - prevent bypass of contact (via whispers) in game via smegas - allow for players to manually block out smegas that may not be bannable in nature by themselves - allow for players to block out smegas that are bannable in nature rather than needing to wait for them to get banned (will still report, more of the needing to wait for action to be taken section)
I almost strictly want this feature for people who probably aren't violating the terms and conditions but engaging in behavior I find obnoxious. I just want to play my favorite childhood game and not users daily using Super Megaphones for non-game related activities. I don't want to be too specific as I don't want to call anyone out, I just want to be able to limit what I can see from these people and move on. I think it's even a great feature for using against people who are violating the terms and conditions. For example recently there was a user spamming Super Megaphones for hours calling out a specific user before there was GM intervention. It would have been nice if in the interim between filing a report if there was an option to hide this behavior until a GM is able to deal with it. This isn't to slight the work of the GMs, it's just to help support the need for these features as means to help stop gameplay disruption while a GM can process the reports. I think it's great if users have control over content they wish to see and in the interim being able to stop harassment and spam in the meantime while a report can be processed as a big win.
While it might be possible it will be a very complex task and require alot of testing to ensure something as important as the blacklist and chat systems do not bug out. At this moment we have other things to focus on and it will stay like that for a while. We will see what we can do in the future.
