I recall a time in gms when people would pitch in mesos for the person doing a lot of damage and spending the most by far to bomb bosses such as krex/zak. For some reason on Royals I usually end up doing stuff for free since people would just leave at the end. Spending 40-50m on parties for krex and 20m for zak. Did I just join a few bad parties or are CB/Shads just treated like poop here?

So should I just wait for new source or should I avoid zakking/krexing with strangers?
Mostly just venting here, but do any other classes get pooped on here?

All CBs and Shads are treated that way here. I hardly got to even Level 20 in GMS, so I have no memories of boss runs and shads, but that's not how it has worked here, or at least that has not been the case in any of my boss runs. Shads use their own mesos to bomb bosses. Because Royals is a lot easier than oldschool GMS, endgame gear is much easier to obtain and so many classes will start outdamaging shads at bosses starting at a certain level (since Meso Bomb damage doesn't scale with your stats or level). I guess in your perspective it would look like bad treatment since you received mesos in GMS, but I think the mesos you lose as a shad evens out the fact that if you're only using ME, you don't need good gear at all (would be a different story if you're nate-bombing, but even then the difference is marginal imo) unlike other classes.

Bossing with friends is fun - you know each other and you can put more trust in them and in their skills. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to only boss with friends; the strangers you boss with often become your friends if you start bossing together regularly.

Anyways, to answer your main question or to rebut your main point, I don't think not receiving mesos should be considered as bad treatment. Your damage at 3rd job and early 4th job will be absolutely insane compared to other classes; paying for this damage with your mesos is not unfair in my opinion. If you want to play as a shad, you should be ready to embrace the downsides too.

EDIT: One big point I didn't make is that mesos are much, much easier to earn in Royals than in oldschool GMS, and so the perceived cost of meso bombing now is relatively much smaller compared to the perceived cost of bombing back then.

I wouldn't use my mesos to pay for a person that doesn't need items or attack pots.

When you say you drop 50m for Krexel how long are those runs ~f18

basically what kivin said. The only type of compensation that I've seen for a shad bombing is at HT where some squad leaders give them a leaf (5k nx) at the end.

Most high level attackers are using stoppers (450k/min) or apples (1m/min) so is not like they are attacking for free either.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I have spent a bit on my goal for decent gear because I don't want to hit ctrl v and click for an hour. Recently spent a bil for a 35 att shield, but thats probably not much mesos for good gear compared to others. This has always been my favorite class and sadly enough I didn't hit lvl 13x until big bang, so by then I could solo zakum in about an hour and a half with all my moves without dropping mesos manually. So maybe my perception on what a shadower is in v.62 is way off.

    Thanks again.

I guess I could just sell all my stuff on my shad and just use him for bombing. Kind of bummed this is what a shad is in v.62. Well solo it costs 70m and its about 2 hours according to more experienced shads than me. About an hour and a half for 50m if its a trio. Sometimes there seems to be no point in bringing other people lol.

You can always play something else until the new source. I believe they are less reliant on bombing in v83.

Yeah I was just a shad during that time I believe. I felt like Boomerang Step was less picky during that time.

If it takes 90 min with 3 people that is very slow, I solo in under an hour and I am far from the best.

I played a Shad at later versions where dropping mesos wasn't needed and that is far better than how it is now.

Get people with good dps. or a good pt combination (NL + SE or Heroes + SI etc etc). 90 mins for a trio is indeed slow.

Maybe this will help you, im a shad who host zruns and i only bring friends/acquaintances, usually have 3 atkers (me, nl, nl/drk), se, and bishop. I bring 3 buyers each run for 65m per helm, and usually 2-3 gets helmed so 24~36mil splits. I ask my atkers to use 1 apple each and i personally bomb 15~20 mil per run out of my own pocket, runs last 25~30 min. I get the final say in everything and i handle all sales/splits. So if you ever feel you're getting treated like shit, do what i do.

As for krex i used to trio with bm and drk, spend 30m (15 per eye), and we kill under an hour, so i think u joined horribly weak krex parties. (Ive long stopped krexing as i findit not worth the money)
