Hello, I'm coming now on the server and I intend to do my attacker. Some of my friends told me about updates to come and enjoy a lot of Bowmaster and Corsair. But I doubt that would be better. I know that Corsair is really difficult to play, because the boat. And that Bowmaster is wanted in all parties. But according to my friends, the Corsair will gain a buff in the life boat and Rapid fire (which according to my calculations, will hit the same as the Hurricane). Could help me this question ?!
It depends on what kind of playstyle you prefer. A Corsair will do more damage in the long run but you also have to put in as much attention and focus in order to yield that result. Unless you're able to leech to 4th job, it is ridiculously terrible to train a gunslinger/outlaw because of your low damage and dependent on stuns and freezes to reduce damage to yourself. Corsair also offers no party buff aside from Maple Warrior so it's more comparable to a NL in that you mainly focus on maximizing your damage. The buff to Corsair is an increase of 4000 HP to your boat and approximately 100 weapon and magic defense. It'll help but you still have to be pretty decent at dismounting to maintain your damage output. Like you said, Bowmasters are always needed in boss parties for Sharp Eyes. They play more of a supportive role while still able to dish out above average damage to single target. Training up to 4th job is relatively simple, also. Compared to a Corsair, your playstyle in the late game will be much more bland. You simply hold down one button for as long as you can in between rebuffing Sharp Eyes. Personally, I prefer to dish out high damage while maintaining optimal positioning to reduce damage to my character so I have both a NL and a Corsair. I also enjoy whiting bosses because you gain more exp in the same given period of time. In the end, it's all up to personal preference as to what kind of gameplay you would like to spend the next few months with.
My fear also make a Bowmaster is because it already has many in the server, get vague future in Horntail would be complicated because not all servers, bowmaster is just a buff and not an attacker, which is wrong. With corsair I think it would be easier to get a seat, even after upgrading to the buff in Rapid fire. What about the leech, I have my bishop sent. =]
Actually there aren't many active, high level BMs. They are always in demand whereas corsairs are rarely in demand because there are NLs that do the same thing (and sometimes better depending on buffs)
