IGN: Alejandron Problem: Got enganged with someone, made the reservations but never got married. She quit and now I can't drop the ring or break the engagement. Details: Can't drop the ring, box, the receipt ticket, can't break engagement. I'm stuck in a marriage with an in-active person.
you should be able to drop the ring box and it will ask you if you want to break the engagement, if that doesnt happen what message are you getting while attempting to drop?
Hello Tim, sorry for getting back so late. The thing is that we made the ticket reservations after the engagement, so now when trying to drop the box I get no message, it just doesn't drop. I tried to go back to chapel NPC to cancel the reservation but there's no option because invites had already been sent.
No he tells me that I'm already engaged, something like that. I saw a very old thread in which the wedding quest-line and the ring was reset, is this true?

A fix for breaking engagements is not simple and will need more time. Concerning your request: I don't see that being too much of an issue; Tim can likely perform an administrative deletion if you can confirm you’re okay with it and have transferred everything you want to keep.
